Has anyone confirmed or predicted hub swap potential?

I remember reading some threads a while ago in which some folks predicted that the 5x100 hubs *might* be swappable with STI 5x114.3 hubs...

But I'm wondering if anyone has any new ideas or predictions? Perhaps someone has confirmed something and I haven't seen or read about it yet?

Was it the Greddy team that did their project car and built some one-off adapters already?

I've got a great set of 5 x 114.3 wheels that I really want to you use.. they are just sitting in my basement waiting patiently. But, they are a bit wide and low offset and I think having to use conversion hub adapters would make them impossible to fit...

Any news or ideas?

Considering the car isn't out to the public, we haven't confirmed anything. Adapters already exist for 5*100 to 5*114.3. An article on the GReddy show car said that they working on a hub swap.

Wait til the car comes out.

If the hubs are from the impreza or Wrx then they are swapable with STi hubs

This is incorrect.

Things will need to be compared/checked before anything can be confirmed. I believe STi knuckles are different than the WRX/Impreza knuckles, so the ABS tone ring doesn't fit in or something along those lines.

This is the sort of thing I'm hoping to learn about...

It would be really nice if we could swap hubs from another Subaru model and have them work without any major modifications to anything else..

Of course there are a few different adapters that can be used to change the pattern.. but those adapters all add some extra width and will make it harder to fit a lower offset wheel.. which in the end is exactly what my goal is.

This really doesnt make sense to me since they are already 5-lug hubs and liekly going to lots and lots of wheel options. I would say odds are that the offsets will be different then the AWD suby counterparts. It would be cheaper and easier to sell your wheels and buy another set. Swapping hubs and knuckles is not a cheap or easy option.

I have a set of GramLights in my basement that I'm in love with.. When I sold my last 240sx I kept the wheels.. I would love to be able to use them on the BRZ.. So I'm trying to figure out a way to make that happen.

When I got my 240 I had 4 lug.. I was able to swap all four hubs along with brakes and ebrakes from a 300zx. It cost about $1000 to do it... most of that cost was in the brakes.. The hubs themselves only cost $100..

I'd love to be able to source a set of STI hubs and swap them on...

The problem is you can get most wheels in a 5X100 lug pattern, but most of the best wheels out there have limited options. For example, SSR, WedsSport, Advan, and Volk all have many more options for the 5X114.3 than the 5X100. I'm doing a hub swap when I put in big brake kits.

why the fuck waste time and money on a hub swap?
