Subaru BRZ review - another believer

Probably late to the party but it was a enjoyable read.

Very accurate and great review. Did not read this one yet. I do not say great review because I am a little biased on the BRZ compared to the FRS, but this reviewer speaks the truth in terms of the interior and options for the extra 2k.

Their complaining about the head unit and sound system just reminded me how little I use the radio, lol.

The review pretty much sums up how I feel about the car, although I'm still glad I got the limited trim. I do like the nicer materials on the seats and the heated aspect is always a nice thing to have if you may end up living somewhere cold.

Question for BRZ owners - is there really less road noise compared to the FRS? The reviewer said "The interior is just a couple dBs quieter." for the BRZ. Is there really a difference in sound dampening between the twins?

Not that I've noticed, and I test drove 2 FRSessss before buying the BRZ.

Only diff I know is the trunk door padding/liner in the BRZ is not standard on the FRS. I'm assuming they sound tested the cars running idle and steady average hwy speed. Could it be the two cars they tested had diff treads on the wheels. Bridgestone / Michelin

I don't know how much stock I would put in a Subaru salesman, but this is one thing my salesman mentioned to me when I was test driving the BRZ and asked him about the two low mileage used FR-S models on the Subaru lot. He claimed the owners traded them in for BRZ Limited models to get the additional features and he claimed the BRZ's were quieter. I did not drive them back to back and cannot recall the FR-S being louder.

"Our advice? Get this exact model, the BRZ Premium Manual, as equipped, and just drive. Take it to the racetrack, or an abandoned or empty parking lot. Better yet, drive it on every canyon or mountain road in your area until you've seen every bump and surface imperfection in your dreams. In both directions. Then drive it some more. Drive it with the windows down and the radio off, alone or with a significant other. Feel the bloated boxer burble rumble or purr. Drive it to feel alive. Drive it to get away, or to just get to work. But whatever you do, just drive."

.....How come they knew what I did lately?

Watch out you're gonna get flamed by the butthurt trolls, I've been saying the same thing and occasionally I got flamed by the trolls. Fatoni used to be the resident troll but he mellowed out, it didn't take long for sho220 to step up to the plate for the #1 troll slot.

That paragraph actually made me chuckle. The author caught me. Not gonna lie, this past month since ownership has been one of the highlights of my driving experiences.
