Took it to the track

Yesterday I took my BRZ to High Plains Raceway for open lapping. This was only my second time on a track so I invited a racing instructor to join me and teach me about how to drive the line of this technical road course. If you haven't done this yet, you really owe it to yourself to do it. Incredible fun and I learned a lot.

A few observations. The car is sublime on the track. Superb chassis balance, cornering and feedback. It really impressed my instructor a Porsche guy. Also even with the electronics off the car did not swing out the back end as much as I expected. That's even with the stock tires. And a final note about HP. Sure more power would have been nice but without it the car told you when you made a mistake. That's right: do the turn right and th car rewards you. Do it wrong and you can't mash the throttle to cover your mistake.

I'll definitely be going back to the track. Shout out to Ben who was there too with his BRZ. Here's a pic:

Hey, I just met Chris today at Cars and Coffee! He was very impressed with the BRZ.

I've really gotta get out there sometime.

Which reminds me that I should have given great thanks to Chris Sarian who is an effective instructor and super confidence builder.
