RCE is looking for (future) BRZ owner in San Diego area for special project

Racecomp Engineering is looking for an individual that is committed to purchasing a Subaru BRZ in the San Diego area. The individual should be someone that plans on tracking their car and assisting in the development of track equipment.

Please PM me if you are interested. Serious inquiries only and if you already have a car preordered you will be put at the top of the list. :)

Yes we have a few things up our sleeves. This is just one of many. :D

Dammit! :bonk: This is too soon for me but I'm sure someone would be able to help RCE since there are a lot of folks in the SD area.

I wonder what the plans consist of? Maybe a donor car to help develop some new aero and suspension. SD has good number of manufacturing and performance shops so I wonder who/what it can be?

But you're based in Maryland. What gives Myles?!?!11!one! I want free parts!

RCE and Vorshlag are developing for the BRZ!! There are going to be some real quality parts out there for this car. And they won't have to be shipped from the other side of the planet. The future of the FT platform is looking very bright.

Oh, and can't forget AST either.. Good dampers there.

Actually, RCE's custom Bilstein shocks took quite some time to get here from Germany during the initial run...

I hope that is not the case. It appears the strut/shock hardware already exist, but they just need to get the valving correct... something I hope they are able to do at Bilstein's facility in San Diego.

Andrew, if you can't find someone local (I doubt that would be a problem, but still...), I'd be willing to drive back and fourth from Las Vegas.

Myles has a lot of happy memories there.

Send me a PM anyway with your phone number.

I want free parts too!

Often we work with companies that we aren't located near for projects and need to make a trip for a week or two of intense R&D time working with their engineers. See: Bilstein. This particular case is not for Bilstein however.

They sure did. The wait was pretty painful for us too. Tons of awesome and exciting development with Bilstein USA, then waiting in queue at the mercy of Bilstein Germany. Since we're a small company with a very focused product line-up, we don't get the same pull at the factory as OEMs and massive orders of replacement shocks for the german manufacturers. BUT the more we've worked for them the more they like us and we've been getting some awesome respect up the ladder. :)

Good to know. Send me a PM with your info :)

This is actually not for a suspension part. I don't know if I'm allowed to say exactly what it is which is the only reason I'm not being more specific.

We've got a lot of really cool parts being worked on as we speak and should surprise everyone when this car is launched. This car is awesome.

Not crazy enough to order a car with no price and having never driven it. :bonk:

But I'm local and willing to help in the future. Sent you a PM.

I was in no way saying that it was your fault; just that sometimes things happen when a new product gets developed, even if it's developed here. Glad that your professional relationship with them is maturing!

So...what kind of part is it if it's not suspension? :D

Racecomp Engineering 03-02-2012 10:46 AM

^ Gotcha. :)

We'll spill the beans soon.

This car will have a few suspension parts available at launch from us. :D

Myles has preordered his car.
