New factory FRS options?
 

Long story, short:

I was at my dealership recently for this new owners dinner that they held at Courtesy Toyota (great place, just don't let them wash your car), it was real nice, and while I was there, I decided to look at the two FRS they had on the lot at the time. One was a firestorm that looked just like mine, the other was a Raven, but the interesting thing was that it had (what appeared to be) factory red stripes on the trunk and hood, blacked out Scion badges, and blacked out wheels.

Not sure if this is going to be a new option for 2014, or if the dealer had this done to it elsewhere. Just curious because that means there will more than likely be parts options for the blacked out badges as opposed to having to manually plastidip them, or plastidip wheels.

They would have been nice options when I got mine, as the black on red looks pretty darn good.

Some dealers have a guy that does raps and stripes , but I believe they focus more on the demo/floor models . My frs was a demo and came with stripes .

Aren't stripes an option for some BRZs for 2014? I remember seeing some configurator with that on...

I'm going to be ordering the stereo from the 2014's, so I'll post back with pictures as soon as I can.

Sound like one of those cars where the dealer puts a special flair on it to get people in the door. Usually I see a few lifted FJ or Tacomas at my local dealership and they are gone within the week. Have yet to see a done up FR-S though.

The dealership where I bought mine had a Hot Lava FR-S with black emblems, black 18" wheels, black spoiler, vinyl roof, and leather seats. $32K.

I want that radio as well. If you get one can you post a part number and price?

Nice to meet you. I didn't go to that new Toyota owners meeting last night b/c of work. Wish I did so I could get that free oil change ticket. Anyways bought my FRS @ Courtesy Toyota as well (Tampa/Brandon Causeway) correct? Hope to see you around

I actually just bought my car from Courtesy Toyota on Monday.

I got an asphalt one and it came with dealer installed Borla Exhaust and dealer installed tinted windows.

That dealership seems to love dealer-installed mods. almost all their FR-S's had something done to them.

I saw the one with the red stripes too (not my thing, I thought they looked kind of out of place).

On a related note, is there any sort of FR-S club in the Tampa area??

I came from a Miata and Miata guys really have a lock on the car club scene. Would love to meet some FR-S people.

lmao his stripes are actually kind of nice. The white and blue looks pretty good and the stripes are thin.

The black and red one at Courtesy Toyota has THICK stripes and I think they were only on the hood. It just looked weird to me.

Black-red contrast is nice but the big stripes weren't my thing :thumbdown:

Maybe he likes them. They are not really my thing, but I can see where someone might like them.
