When do you plan to get your BRZ?

Pre-orders are opening up right about now. Who's jumping on the lists? If you aren't, why not and when do you plan to get your BRZ? Poll is anonymous and more than one option may be selected but once you submit your vote(s) the poll won't let you vote again.

Zgrinch 03-01-2012 02:41 AM

Not seeing a poll.

Edit..now I see it.

Getting out if the gate...3rd on the dealers preorder list.

switchlanez 03-01-2012 02:44 AM

^I'm guessing you never started a poll thread. For some reason this forum posts the thread first so that it's visible to the public and then redirects me to the poll settings page AFTER the thread has been posted. Takes some time for to type up the poll part dude!

Sorry..Yea I know...I'm inpatient..blame it on Subaru. :D

switchlanez 03-01-2012 03:06 AM

I'm going to *try* to hold out til after launch hoping for special edition announcements (Scion or Subaru) to trickle stateside as has been teased overseas. The FT-86 II Concept, STI concepts, Nurburgring 86, Prova Black Edition, and GT300 got me excited and I want something that more closely mimics the icons that sold me. A stock body with no OEM-quality mods available (as far as we know) for the first few months won't do. When the Release Series/STI/special editions hit, I'll be on it plus will have saved the difference in cost by then.

KevinDuMa 03-01-2012 03:06 AM

i voted like the top 5 lol they all apply to me

switchlanez 03-01-2012 03:11 AM

^3rd and 4th option are kinda mutually exclusive... you're either sure or not sure. Not both. =_=

MRZ415 03-01-2012 04:40 AM

I think the poll should be Altered to ...
During launch ((First 7 months)) or after Launch

MrBonus 03-01-2012 07:37 AM

I don't know yet. I want to wait until after the initial rush of launch but if I come across one with a dealer who is willing to deal, I'll probably buy.

#87 03-01-2012 07:51 AM

As soon as i can, provided they dont try to charge extra. I have a deposit down but its at a small dealer and im 4 in line so i dont expect to get one this year.

Dark 03-01-2012 08:02 AM

Next year model.

ZetaVI 03-01-2012 08:23 AM

I'll buy a BRZ basically when I think I have enough money saved to purchase.

Pre-orders don't open up until 9am EST or 8 CDT.

powertrip 03-01-2012 09:54 AM

I plan on waiting to order until there is a more definitive answer as to whether there will be an FI version during this generation. If they plan on doing one should be rumors of the test mules by early next year assuming a mid cycle launch during refresh time frames.

maxeveland 03-01-2012 10:46 AM

i generally wait a couple of months to see consumer reviews from you guys and all those little things that matter and you don't look for in a test drive

MrBonus 03-01-2012 10:47 AM

I find it a bit annoying that they've opened up the order banks without a firm MSRP. It's a mass produced Subaru, not a Ferrari.

i wonder what they'll do if they price it high, people cancel orders, and then no one is buying.

S2kphile 03-01-2012 11:08 AM

I'll get one as soon as I can get invoice + TTL and/or special financing like 0.9%/60months etc.

EDIT: I might have to wait for the convertible version(high spec) and then grab a cheap used low spec FRS for fun/tracking.

There won't be a convertible version.

Not a BRZ, but an 86/GT86=FRS is planned by Tada. Check the Scion threads. But you're right about Subaru maybe not releasing a convertible version.

But to me GT86=FRS=BRZ so I'd want a droptop with BRZ luxuries since we know Scion doesnt offer anything luxurious. Here's to hoping *crosses fingers*. I want a brand new age S2000 with amenities. This the car that seems to come close.

Boxer 86 03-01-2012 11:55 AM

I fall under the '15+ category since I will not be able to afford a new car withing the next 2- maybe 3 years. I'm waiting until I go through school and have a good stable job before I even consider a move such as buying a new car.

I envy all of you who can go out and buy it now without worries, and I hope you will enjoy them!

Zaku 03-01-2012 11:58 AM

I initially wanted to get mine after launch, but because I got a job out of the country coming up in the summer. Which I may be there for the rest of the year, it looks like I'll have to come back and get it next year. Which I think would make it a 2014 model? So that's what I voted.

Spaceywilly 03-01-2012 12:01 PM

a few months ago I would've been "during launch" but lately I have moved solidly into the "not sure if I want one" category. It's an ok car, but doesn't seem worth the effort they are making us go through to get one. If they are readily available come July or August, and I can get a decent deal on one, I might get one, but that doesn't seem like it's going to happen. If I'm going to wait until next year anyways, I will just wait for a more powerful version, or maybe the next WRX.

I actually went to a dealership yesterday and asked about the BRZ, how many they were getting, if they had any preorders, if they knew the price, etc. The guys said they didn't know any more than I did and took my email and said they'd let me know when they heard anything. There shouldn't be this much confusion so close to launch, especially not on a car that has been in the oven for what seems like forever. The 2012 Impreza was announced in concept form in late 2010, the production model was displayed at NY in April 2011, you could order it in July/August 2011, and they showed up at dealerships in November, despite the earthquake affected production. The car went through the whole process from concept to delivery in the time it took them to go from concept car 1 to concept car 2 for the BRZ.

Oh wow, didn't know about the drop top Scion until 10secs ago on the homepage of this forum. My mistake :D

Fair enough, but recall that this car is tied up in TWO companies, one of which WAS the largest automaker in the world a few years ago. Thus more red tape!

Another FC owner! sup?

I'm planning to get mine ASAP, so whenever the dealer gets it in. I'd prefer to get it around Sept-Oct, but sooner or later is cool too. Gonna head to the local dealer in a few hours and see whats up.

86design 03-01-2012 02:38 PM

I'm getting the BRZ right when they get off the trucks lol

DavidGaddy 03-01-2012 10:02 PM

How much is this car going to cost first and how much are you guys putting down for a deposit I was told 2500 it is a nice car but I need a price first

ashtray 03-01-2012 10:31 PM

I'm planning on buying mine right after lunch. May 3rd or so. Stop for a sandwich, give them time to prep it, then go sign the paperwork! :D

I'm somewhat interested in the next WRX too. If the BRZ stays low production for the first two years, resale value should remain strong, and I can always switch over to a WRX hatch (coupe?) when that comes out.

I put a $100 deposit when pre-ordering mine.

@Topic:
I voted for def. getting at launch (within 7months) and also not sure. I already pre-ordered a lightning red, 6MT limited which I will buy - unless the price is higher than what I'm willing to pay, or if I'm not impressed with the test drive.

Let's hope so. Then I can end up getting one at invoice. :D

dwcnmv 03-01-2012 11:54 PM

I can't wait for people to start posting actual receipt of their cars. I feel like there are probably a lot of "During Launch" people that won't follow through.

racerkyo 03-23-2012 12:13 PM

i already pre ordered. black manual premium no options
