Sidemarker Alternative

So I couldn't decide on what type of route I wanted to go with my side markers... JDM clears didn't appeal to me and I didn't want to wait on the possiblity of Nigel's built in LED versions not showing up for weeks or possibly months.

So I went ahead and purchased a set of new oem sidemarkers through Subaru as one of my good friends get excellent discounted pricing through a specific dealership in my area without having to wait very long at all. After picking them up I dropped them off at my good friends paint shop to be paint matched SWP/Whiteout. Total cost: $110(maybe less due to interior panels getting recleared), little more then the other options but definitely something you don't see as often. Only other person I know with the same work done on a frs/brz is @WheelDude.com.

I like the idea but does this pass safety inspection in your state?

painted side markers look 1000000x better

I left my bulb disconnected though, I don't like the hazy orange going through the white, I rather risk the ticket :P

I feel the opposite. I think painted looks off because you can see it there. Now removing completely, I'd be all for. But that means new fenders :(

Interesting, but dont you need to have the reflector visible?

B@t

The wheels are my reflectors, if you hit me because my reflectors are painted you're doing it wrong.

619_FRS 06-21-2013 12:53 PM

I doubt this would pass safety inspections, but it's something like the red reflecter on tail lights that cops aren't looking out for. I think this is the best option besides removing them completely and doing fender work.

Oh and the only reason you noticed it's there is because the thread is about it. If not, you really don't even notice it in person or pictures.
