E85 400hp mark
I currently run a borg warner efr 7064 turbo. I'm at 315@wheels hp and stock tires does not hold traction on 1st and 2nd gear. Monday I was going to drop my car off and do the E85 tune and get that good 400hp. But kind of iffy about doing so. I've heard mixed things about running car past 330hp. Like when breaking down motors the rods are a little bent. Is it safe or not to run a safe E85 tune for 400hp? I plan on building the motor in a few months just waiting to see if a cams comes out. But if cams are not coming out soon then just going to build bottom end sooner. How many people riding around with 400hp E85 as a DD having no issues?

I can tell you tomorrow as ill dyno mine and see how it holds up lol

You do have other tires than stock right?
|
These must be like the old RE92s. It was a race to see who could kill them the fastest.

Still running stock tires. My car only has 3k miles on it. So tires are far from bald.

What turbo kit do you have?
|
As far as daily use I'm not sure but I know there are a few 400+whp fr-s/brz on e85 that are seeing track use and see spiritual driving. I'm sure it would be just fine it would just get a little cost effective using e85 especially if you get on it all the time haha mpg will suck!

Mine is running fine at 450+whp. It's had several rounds of dyno tuning, 14 runs on the drag strip and thousands of miles of spirited driving. 3200 combined miles so far.
Want some interesting data? I got 26mpg while running 93oct at 8-8.5psi (300-310whp). On my last tank on my e85 setup, I got 17.2mpg. |
^ can't wait to do the FBM kit and run 8-8.5 psi like yours! Hopefully mine does 310whp too :) mileage on pump gas looks very promising
