First look at the the 2012 Kia K9
 

On the heels of sketches published earlier this month, Kia now has revealed the first official images of its new full-size, rear-wheel-drive sedan. Set to launch in Korea during the first half of this year, the large sedan carried the codename “KH” during development but will be called K9 in its home market. The vehicle’s availability, name, and launch dates for export markets will be announced later this year.

Poor BMW :(, first the Chrysler 300 (Royce Phantom), then Chevy took their angel eyes for the camaro and now this.

Will they use the V8 in this from the Genesis?

Dual-quad square headlight projectors are what caught my eye after the instinctive 'BMW ripoff!' reaction.

A Korean car called "K9". Ironic?...Yes, Hilarious...indeed :)

The headlights are the first thing I noticed. Not really a fan of the design but Kia sure has stepped up its game over the last decade.

More than likely, this is supposed to be the top spec model of the K series platform from Kia, so it would make sense for them to use the Tau V8 from the Genesis Sedan.

The headlight housing is Mercedes Benz current headlight style "ripped off". This is Kia version of Genesis sedan.

Kia is stepping it up the past 10 years. I guess they really really paid attention to what Euro car makers are designing. I guess people will complain it is basically a 5 series but I'm not.
