Home-built App Radio Cable?

Hi all,

I know Pioneer is a fairly popular HU on these forums so Im hoping someone can help me out. In order to get the App radio function on my AVH-X5500BHS to work properly im told I need the "special" cable (CD-IU201S) now we all know these special cables are just over priced cheap cables soldered together...

What I can not seem to find for the life of me is what kind of connector Pioneer calls the RGB. There are tons of connectors that carry RGB signals but I cannot find the name of the 26pin RGB that is on the back of this unit... I essentially intend to build my own cable that allows for 2 usb connections via a switch plus the RGB and 30pin iphone connecter.

Any help in my efforts would be most appreciated!

Cheers folks! :happy0180:

I may have just stumbled on to my own answer here. I was focusing too much on digital signal, the connector is just a plain old Mini-VGA (not DVI).

For anyone interested I will kep you posted on how this turns out.
