OMG...I HATE MYSELF! (Self Wash Scratch!!)

Guys I am so sorry if there is a post related to this, but I am kind of panicking now because I think I just scratched my hood while washing. The scratch isn't deep since I can only feel it when I use my nails to touch it. Other than that, it seems fine when my finger goes through it. How can I get rid of scratches like this?? Thank you all!!!

To prevent scratch while washing. Use the 2 bucket method.

Depending how deep it is, you may be able to the scratch (or most of it) with polishing the area. There are rubbing compounds that you can use.

Some buffing with a microfibre cloth and a light polish will do the trick. Looks like you have simply scratched the clear coat. I use Prima products for my car. They sell three different polishes I believe, and you could get the one called Finish which would prob work just fine for a surface scratch like that.

you can catch with your finger nail = it's done. you may polish it to diminish it but it's going to be there unless repaint.

Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0 will eliminate any clearcoat scratches... It's hard to tell if it went thru the paint cus your cars black, but maybe give it a shot.

Based off your questions, you are new to the automotive finish world. The others are trying to help however, there is a slight oversight... Take it to a pro before you "swirl the sh**" out of it!

Thank you all!! I will take it to a detailer before any further action.
Otherwise I may have to start another thread with the topic "how to fuked up your paint"

My dealer did something similar the first time they washed my car after I bought it. I had no clue they were cleaning it, but I sure as hell saw the scratches when I got home. Thankfully, the car is white and I can't really seem them unless I am in the perfect light. Oh well....it is a DD and I'm sure she will get more.

Being a DD it probably will. You should still take your car to a good detailer, or if you're good at detailing do it yourself. That should take care of most, if not all, of the the scratches. The car will look more amazing. At least for a while.
