Rewiring hazard switch

Hey guys,

Want to try and fit a 1DIN unit below the dash piece, but this will cover up the display panel below. Happy to delete the clock and air bag warning lights, but will need to relocate the hazard button.

The audio DSP controller isnt too deep, so it is possible to mount it flush with the headunit and still reach behind, but this is not ideal and think that covering up the hazard button may cause issues with the local constabulary..

Got a spare set of dash pieces that came with the car, was thinking of having a crack at fiberglassing up a modified piece to mount controller for my audio DSP and relocating the hazard button to the new piece.

Question is, has anyone pulled the clock panel out? Got any pics you can post of the plug at the back? Is it possible to rewire just the hazard lights and leave everything else disconnected?

Basic chop up pix of what I am thinking...

Why not put the RUX down the bottom by the USB port?

too wide, covers the engine start / stop button :(

I think moving the engine start/stop button would be easier than the suggest modification!

How about putting the RUX up in the roof? Above the rear view mirror? Seen that a lot in competition...

All options being considered at the moment, but the idea of a physical volume knob and sub control within reach and blended in with the dash is where my head is at.. currently the RUX is in the glovebox, which is the safest option cos im not tempted to play with it while driving ;p
