FORTUNEate?

im about to buy some fortune auto 500 coils for my BRZ. any thoughts both good and bad?

keep in mind this is a daily driver and i have no interest in doing any kind of track.

thanks

I cannot reccomend these coils enough. Love, love them. For a daily I will reccomend the Swifts. They will have a ride quality almost like stock. The only time that I'm reminded that I'm on coils is pot holes.

I got mine from @ImportImage.

i spoke to the guys at ImportImage. he told me for a daily driver, i dont need the swift springs. ill probably stay away from them.

They'd know better than me. They really are the authority on the matter. Someone else reccomended the Swifts to me and I signed up with them. I absolutely love the ride quality with the Swifts. But if they're saying you don't need em then it's money saved.

Exactly.....the swifts aren't required for a quality ride BUT like i said they're the best springs on the market. Basically the Fortune springs will do the job just fine. But for the best quality ride and someone who is more track minded swift is def the way to go!

i dont know. its so confusing. im thinking that since its coils and not just springs that i should do the swifts cause ill probably be happier in the long run.

BTW, how much of a drop do you have with them? ive heard up to 3 inches. more importantly, post a pic or two. even a cell phone pic will do

I'm about 1-1/2" drop - You can see my build - http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=10474&page=3

FT86Speedfactory has had good luck with the Fortunes and they highly recommend them. They have a review page on here. With my budget I was between BC (Local to me) and Fortune when I saw the RCE Tarmac 0's. Decided on the 0's because they were more affordable than the KW's I really really wanted and I know I only would adjust height and not play with damping settings. I do not track either and I love the 0's so far.

You will be happy with the FA 500's. I got a set (custom spring rates) from them with the Swift spring and roller bearing upgrades. Best coilover system that you can buy outside of Ohlin, KW V3's (maybe just as good), and AST custom setup (minimum $4k). I've ridden on everything from Japan (everything is entirely oversprung on virtually every platform). BC's used to be my budget coil setup go-to, but these took that spot the second I got my alignment.

I DD mine pretty stiff, but they can be made very supple. I have a slightly stiffer spring rate than OTS setup, and it can be a bit jarring over road imperfections when stiff, but very comfortable at softer settings. If I had the money, I'd definitely give their external reservoir Dreadnaughts a try and see how their top of the line compared with others in their bracket. If I had to do it again, there's no doubt I'd do it the same.
