who in here is using Tein Flex coilovers?

We have a local customer running around on them and he has nothing but good things to say about them, but I don't have any personal experience with them on this chassis. :)

anyone have any experience with the tein street basis? i'm not looking for any increase in performance - just trying to get rid of some of the wheel gap. would the street basis be sufficient for that?

If you're looking for a fully height adjustable coilover with no damper adjustment settings, Street Basis will do well for your intended application. :)

I apologize for the noob question but what is damper adjustment setting for?

Means you have a single knob that adjusts the compression and rebound at the same time. Generally speaking, the adjustment affects rebound more than the compression. 2-way adjustable shocks is having the capability to adjust compression and rebound independently. The Street Basis does not have those adjustments. The shock is "permanently" valved specifically to the spring rate meaning you can't really adjust the characteristics of the damper with a simple click. :)

Ah I see. Thanks for the info. Not sure if you have had experience with the Street Basis, but do you know if they have a similar feel as the stock suspension? I think they will be fine for my purposes but I just want to make sure that the ride quality is not affected too much as I won't be able to make adjustments to the damper.

This is one of the products we performed extensive testing on (really just drive around the block and come back in), however, our customers who have tested it have all stated that the suspension gives the driver more confidence while providing a more performance feel. The shocks are valved specifically to the spring rate so the ride quality may feel a little stiffer, but the car will feel more composed. :)

I have the Tein Flex coilovers and really like them. I was worried that doubling the factory spring rates would make the car too stiff. They felt very similar in stiffness but the better dampening was there in the Teins. I run the factory sway bars and have not felt the need to upgrade them after fitting the Teins.

The other thing I did at the same time was fit most of the Cusco underbody braces and strut braces along with Cusco lower arms to correct the camber after lowering about 30mm from stock.
