Canepa Design Drive - JULY 13
 

Update: This drive will take place on July 13 when Canepa has their morning Cars and Coffee event from 8am to noon. Not only will we be able to check out other fantastic cars from private owners who attend the event, but we should have full access to the facility as opposed to just the museum rooms. This means getting up close and smelling the old leather on the in-progress restorations.

As standard procedure, Meet up at the start point at 7:30. We will be leaving at 8:00 AM sharp. Make sure to bring your two-way radios. The drive will be a couple of hours at least and we need to get a quick start in order to make sure we get to Canepa design with enough time to check everything out.

Entry to the Museum is free and is a great destination for our next NorCal DRIVE event.

Sweet I can't wait to check out this place, looks so cool! I'm down for either date but I voted for the closer one (22nd) because I want to see this place ASAP and I feel it's been too long since our last big drive (though I'm sure Vegas people feel differently hehe).

Which weekends are we voting for?

June 29 works for me. What time you thinking of getting together? The one bad thing about the Bay Area drives is how early they start and coming from Stockton means I'd have to be up at 4:30 am for a 7 am meet. I don't like getting up that early on Saturday and I'm good with that....

June 22 and 29. The poll is up at the top Samseed....

Damn, really wanna check out this place, but 22nd is a huge maybe for me, and the 29th definitely won't work. Sigh, maybe next time...

I know that drive very well. I used to attend school at Pacific. As we get more replies, I'll get an idea of what the group consists of and see if I can address everyone's needs as best we can. If there are more guys in Stockton, tell them to hit up this thread and let it be known!

Yeah. Too soon after vegas for me and then too close to the umigo meet that will cost me sone spending money too. But seems like an awesome place for sure

@Cjymiller What time did you have in mind? All day thing? I'm free the 22nd 'til about 11, so I may atleast join you guys for part of the drive.

I can attest for how awesome an experience Canepa Design is. I will definitely look forward to joining this meet.

It looks like the poll has been less than conclusive, as its pretty much split down the middle as of now. Considering the 22nd is coming up quickly, are we just gonna go ahead with that date? Move it to the 29th? Pick an entirely new date?

I think I'm going to change the date out to July 13th. The 2nd Saturday of every summer month they do cars and coffee and there will likely be some AWESOME private cars sitting in the front lot and they open up access to the entire building so you get to walk around and check out everything.

Can't do 22nd. July 13 works - 2nd Saturdays venue is a bit more exciting.

Im really gonna try now. I would cut out a bit early though as Blox open house is that day too and I want to attend that as well Hopefully I can get out of Little League duties for the day

Too bad.. Wanted to go, but Spocom is the same day in Anaheim.

oh man Blox is the same day?! That show is pretty phenomenal. Hopefully it runs all day like last year so we would have time to check it out afterwards.

It goes til 5. i figure if you get to canepa at 8 and head out by like 11 you have plenty of time for blox still. I have never been to Blox and am trying to get this day off. So we'll see I guess.

I'm in Chris. The BRZ hasn't been drivable for over a week, hopefully it'll be ready in time...

Hopefully this is an epic drive since people now have plenty of time to plan for it! I'm so down for July 13th.

Just bumping for attention. We've had some people ask about the status of this and its best that some of our newer nor-cal members see this as it would be a fantastic first 86Drive experience!

Im currently working with them along with motormavens for some collaborations

Not sure if Speedhunters would be interested in our tame cars unless they were doing an article on a revival of the grassroots movement, a comparison drawn between the older sports cars being restored and our new cars which have been manufactured in the same spirit. I'd really like to be able to get some good photographers in my contacts so I can get some great pics of my car. That's for sure.

@SC David is a car photographer, and he has taken some great shots of our cars when he comes out for one of our drives... hopefully he can make it out for this one too. ;)
