FA20CLUB Does it again...

Well Sort of... I just finished installing their kit over a couple part time days, mostly Saturday. Oh what fun as I haven't wrenched to this extent in a while and it included putting in a ACT 6 puck sprung race clutch and streetlite flywheel. I chose to leave the stock injectors and fuel pump to avoid a few more variables while making sure there were no leaks so one call to Tony and I had another tune for the stock injectors in a matter of moments (I can't say enough about Tony) TONY YOU ARE without a doubt THE MAN! always there with the answers I needed... can't thank you enough. Anyway I'll put the injectors and pump in this week and re-flash it, do some logging and let loose with the boost, hoping to make the Galveston cruise with the Houston86club crew. I don't post much may put up a journal, I'm doing things sorta in reverse, power adder first, then cosmetic stuff, anyway here's a pic of the install...

Looks awesome. I went to a shop friday and asked around about turbo's on the Fr-S and was told they have been told they can't hold a turbo @ 5 psi. Now I can't believe that at all. I drive mine daily and want to add a turbo kit to it and would love to hit 400 rwhp. Now if I run 93 fuel and get all right set up and tune can the car still be daily driven and fun when you want to get on it ?

don't go to that shop any more. they're either idiots who don't know what they're talking about ('we heard...' is usually the tipoff for this), or they are purposely deceiving you. the fa20 is more than capable of running twice that amount of boost reliably, as has been demonstrated countless times on this and other forums.

you'd think people who did this stuff for a living would research first and speak later, but hey, if they've 'been told' then it must be so :bonk:

I may be putting the same kit in another local car soon...

Nomed Alucard 06-17-2013 03:14 AM

Yeah i went there just ask questions and afetr hearing some of the answers i walked out and finally got time to ask in here. I will be looking into the FA kit as soon as my wifes car is more finished restoration.

WOW! Nice clean setup! I wish I still lived in Houston.. doesn't seem like too many Dallas people are on this forum.. at least none I've seen with any performance mods like this.
