I chipped the paint yesterday about the size of a dime trying to remove the emblem adhesive. I had this laying around it doesn't look bad just kinda silly. Any other ideas?

May I ask how exactly it happened?

If you put some white behind it I bet no one would ever notice.

Used a soft cotton polishing pad on my dremel... tried touch up paint, but didn't look good.

imo it wouldve looked better if you covered the entire emblem from behind. creative way of masking it though.

Can't really tell cuz it's all camouflaged now, hahah!

I think it's pretty creative. You should do the same to the other emblem to keep it consistent.

i used my heat gun while removing my badge and accidently melted the paint. i ended up using carbon fiber wrap to cover it up :p

Why not just plasti dip. It's stupid easy to remove the excess. Bit tedious but not hard lol. Nice save though!

Dragon 06-18-2013 04:55 AM

It's kind of random if you ask me. try covering the whole area instead

Should have just used white vinyl, prob look fixed.

plasti dip the entire area and black out the background as well as the hood ornament.

Thanks, but this raises a question. Is it easy to chip the paint or over-heat the paint upon removing the remaining residue from the adhesives used for the emblem? Should we ourselves be doing this or should we let the dealership upon receiving our vehicles?
