Swapping rear brakes to match Stoptech BBK

I have red Stoptech BBK in the front and I'd like to have something nicer on the rear without spending another 2K. Can I pull any STI rear brakes and put them on? Are there other cars that have good rear brakes I could pull from?

2004 STI rears should do nicely (powder coated red, of course).

problem is finding a set.

2004 STI rears require a $250 bracket...you want 2008+ STI rears for "bolt-on" fitment.

Paint stock rear calipers red. They are as good as STi bremobs.

This. If your lucky to find one I'm sure you'll be paying 1g for it

I'm thinking of swapping pads, throwing on slotted rotors, and stainless lines when it's time to replace. I'm hoping that will match my Wilwood front kit well.

My main goal here is just to match the style and color by having a nice flat surface to powder coat or paint red. Spending a grand to have red rear brakes just doesn't make sense to me and painting the ugly stock ones won't work either. I guess I'll just have to deal with it.

Forgive my ignorance, I'm not from subaru land. Do the STi rears have the drum e-brake?

So are you looking to even the system out because there is too much front brake? Or just looking for something pretty?

Stock brakes on this car are fantastic. IMO, I wouldn't touch a thing, even for heavy track use. Upgraded pads, lines, and fluid and just go.

That being said, which stoptech kit do you have? 328mm or 355? You may want to contact them as certain kits are designed to work with the factory rear brakes and others are not.

It's all visual. My car is a daily driver and have the 328mm which is doing more than enough to stop my car. My rear brakes work great but are just ugly.

Little known fact, the rear Brembo results in LESS rear brake...so while you're going for looks, that may not be the best route as far as performance. Just food for thought.

Are you opposed to throwing on some caliper paint and calling it a day? 30 bucks and two hours of work.

This. The rear Brembos are larger yes, but less brake torque due to much smaller pistons. So the only thing you would really be evening out is looks.
