Ok, I put this thread together for those of us who put down a deposit with Rich/Gene/etc. at Orion Subaru in Irvine, CA. The reason created this thread is to compare notes and see all the information we've been provided jives. I'm not saying that Rich or anyone there didn't seem trustworthy, it's just that there wasn't a lot of information exchanged and nothing went on paper. So let's get all the information out there and compare notes.

Well it seems like they didnt know much about the car until it arived in their showroom. The only thing they can do is create a list of people interested and you can negotiate something with them once we get official price. I dont think they're gonna do the same thing that PH Subaru did with us and give us a deal before they know price.

I could understand how you guys don't want to get screwed like PH Subaru...but let me tell you, all my friends got there WRX or STI at Irvine Subaru so i could vouch for them..I know my word doesn't mean a lot cause none of you know me....but there really trust worthy people...also the whole writing thing....just ask them to give you receipt...thats what they did to me...they gave me a paper with my check scanned with the sales manager signature and store managers....also has there contact info...I only left a post talking about Irvine Subaru because I was waiting for Irvine or South Coast to give me a call...and I couldn't be more happier to have Rich call me back telling me that they have a BRZ in there showroom and how there ready to take deposits....I just went to Irvine Subaru (02/27/2012) and Rich was telling me he should have more info on the BRZ some time Early March...He gave me a date...but i don't want to post something that may get people upset (cause if that day doesn't happen, I don't want people on this forum to be upset thinking his a liar lol)

Just give it time...the BRZ is almost here and headquarters is getting ready to announce a lot of good info that we all been waiting for :)

did any of you follow up with rich to see if he was able to input our orders?

From what Rich told me when we spoke on the phone while I was putting down my deposit, he's only going to be able to put orders in when the pre-ordering thing starts - which is said to be March 1 right?

ya your right. i thought it was the 27th i.e. yesterday. but i could be wrong.

I only created this thread because I wanted to just get a consensus about the other guys who put a deposit with Rich at Irvine Subaru. I have no intention of painting a bad picture of the Irvine dealership nor Rich. I just want to get that clear. Rich was a stand up guy when I spoke with him and was forthcoming with any info he could give. Just being anxious about the situation I just wanted to compare notes with others who did the same.

Now that I got that out the way...

Rich said Feb. 27th or March 1st would be the opening day for pre-orders. He also said he couldn't confirm which one. So he was very up front about not knowing the exact dates and still being in the dark about most things.

As of today, I haven't gotten a call from Rich about if the orders were put in or otherwise. Even though I'm antsy I'm going to hold off and just wait patiently. I'm sure bothering Rich isn't going to do me any favors.

So has anyone been contacted by Rich/Gene/etc.? Or has anyone contacted them? Any additional info???
