Show up in the morning before 9, pay $40, attend drivers meeting. You get 6 timed runs, time will be ranked against those in your class. Classes are by car type and modifications. Eat delicious Licks Burgers at lunch, and have fun for the rest of the day.

Generally runs until 3-4pm.

Stock cars welcome, mine is stock :)

Autoslaloms are events where you navigate a course laid out with pylons. These are lower speeds events (usually not any faster than 80km/h) and are generally better for learning the dynamics and limits of their car and driving skill. There's no "race", as you are realistically competing against time.

Noobs are always welcome and any kind of car prep is ok. The name of this game is driving improvement while learning advanced driving techniques. Many of these skills are transferable to your daily driving routing, and for these types of cars, I would highly suggest doing these types of events to learn what your car and driving skill is capable of.

Oh, and the event shouldn't end any later than 4.

Thanks! sounds very educational and fun. are there people to actually teach how to drive? or even how to shift properly/better?

I don't think I can attend June 22, but maybe the other ones.

It's so much fun, you should definitely come out.

It's not a school, so there are no "instructors" per say. But there are a lot of seasoned drivers there that are more than willing to ride along and give you pointers and tips throughout the day. Don't be afraid to ask as most of the drivers would be more than willing to help you out.

As for the shifting and stuff, if you're new to stick, it's basically something that you just need to develop over time. Anyone can tell you exactly what to do but you basically need to work on it yourself. For these events, my recommendation is to just leave it in 2nd and concentrate on your driving.

nice! theres actual scion reps at the event?

engsr 06-14-2013 11:44 PM

That event in particular was a Scion FRS promo day, where every participant was given the opportunity to "test drive" an FRS. The reps from Scion were passengers all day, and they didn't look too good near the end, haha.

If you can't make the whole day but have an hour to kill, drop by, and observe what's going on, talk to other drivers, just to get an idea of what autoslalom is all about. Just as a warning, you'll have a permanent smile if you go for a ride along and then you'll want to participate. :D

I Should be there. Going to be at the Scarborough Scion BBQ event the evening before.
