Hennessey has worked its magic on the new Ford F150 Raptor and as you'd expect, the primary addition to FoMoCo's Dakar-ready pickup is... power. Meet the Hennessey VelociRaptor.

With the knowledge that Ford's engineers know infinitely more about suspension tuning, Hennessey has focused the majority of its efforts under the hood, slapping a Whipple supercharger onto the Raptor's 5.4-liter V8 and ramping output to 501 horsepower (at 5,100 rpm) and 520 pound-feet of torque (at 3,200 rpm). Combined with the 9.1 pounds of boost, a K&N intake, upgraded fuel injectors, a stainless steel exhaust and headers, and then tuned with a reflashed ECU, the VelociRaptor's 0-60 time has been reduced from 8.4 to 5.6 seconds with the quarter mile dispatched in 14.1 seconds at 97 mph.

Hennessey plans to create 100 VelociRaptors each year, with the full kit coming in at $10,950 or the Hennessey-installed solution for $14,995, which includes a one-year warranty. Full stats and breakdown after the jump, along with a video of the VelociRaptor running the traps.

SVT Raptor Gone Wild: Hennessey Reveals 501-hp Supercharged VelociRaptor 500

It's been well documented by our very own Ed Loh that the 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is a bona fide beast. But with "only" 310 horsepower onboard courtesy of a widely used 5.4-liter V-8, a little more oomph would be more than welcomed. For those considering waiting for the more powerful 6.2-liter V-8 coming from SVT this winter (thought to put out 400-horsepower/400 pound-feet of torque), Hennessey Performance Engineering may have just the alternative.

Turning this beast into a VelociRaptor 500 is a HPE supercharger running at 8 psi. Mix in a new fuel system, headers, exhaust, air filter, and ECU, and a grand total of 501 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque are at your disposal. That's over 100 horses and pound-feet more than our best guess at the new 6.2's output.

In a straight line, the VelociRaptor 500 hits 60 mph almost 3 seconds faster that the stock 5.4-liter-equipped model (5.6 seconds versus 8.0 seconds). The coveted 1320-foot stretch of pavement is devoured in 14.1 seconds at 97 mph.

Exterior-wise, HPE hasn't changed a thing, save for a few emblems denoting its uniqueness. Only 100 units will be made this year, so if you're interested, you'd better act quickly. But be prepared to set aside a healthy chunk of change. The kit alone without installation and tuning runs for $10,950. Add in tuning and installation by an authorized agent and it'll cost you around $14,950.

For all you bean counters, the stock Raptor starts at $38,020. Tack on the full HPE kit and you're looking at around $53,000, or about $11,000 more than the upcoming 6.2-liter variant ($41,995).

Texas-based tuners Hennessey Performance Engineering have a new package for the Ford F150 SVT Raptor. The Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 managed to finish the quarter-mile in 14.09 seconds at 97 mph.
The testing took place near HPE headquarters in Sealy at the Lonestar Motorsports Park.

Company engineers brought the 5.4-liter V8 engine up to 501 hp (374 kW) and 520 ft-lb (705 Nm) of torque by adjusting the ECU, installing a Whipple supercharger and a K&N intake. Tuning the fuel injectors and exhaust also helped the truck's performance. 0-60mph is now set at 5.6 seconds, down nearly three full seconds from the stock vehicle.
100 units of the Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 kits will be produced this year. The package retails for $10,950, with an additional cost of over $4k to have HPE install the kit.

Too bad they didn't modify the bland interior as well.

A very FORD attitude...
"Man, this thing is HUGE and slow..."
"Can't you just put a bigger motor in it?"

Matador 02-14-2010 02:25 AM

This = Zombie apocalypse bug out ride.

**sigh** if only it came in turbo diesel :(

VenomRush 02-14-2010 03:46 AM

this thing is a beast.. this is how trucks should be, just straight up brute power

Shadowsong6 02-14-2010 03:51 AM

Mmmmm.... I want one.

Lexicon101 02-14-2010 04:30 AM

I'll take a beat-up old chevy, KTHXBAI.
If I'm gonna buy a truck, it's gonna be a working truck, not a huge oversized beast that will never do a day's work.

I don't care for crazy horsepower in a truck. I just want something that'll do the job.

Shadowsong6 02-14-2010 06:19 PM

Erm..... You know what this truck is capable of in stock form...right? :iono:

#87 02-14-2010 10:37 PM

15g on top of the 40g for the truck. No thanks.....

But I know nothing about trucks so.... lol

Capability is irrelevant with something like this.
You and I both know that at LEAST 90% of the assholes who buy this thing will never do more with it than drive it around the city and look pretty.
I don't want a hulking behemoth. I want something simple and clean, just like I like sports cars, economy cars, whatever. I'm not looking for flashy, if I'm gonna buy a truck, I'm gonna buy a truck, not a trophy.

Speaking of trophy trucks.. if I wanted something for off-roading, it'd be more like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Sqkd3gYFvo

^ Don't be a cynic. It might not be what you prefer, but seriously, any real enthusiast can see the cool in this.

Saying that poseurs will be 90% of the market is the same as saying mostly college girls and wanna be drifters/drag racers/riceboys will make up the majority of FT-86 sales. Probably true, but largely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

Lexicon101 02-15-2010 12:48 AM

No, no.. perfectly relevant in the grand scheme. Maybe not relevant to you, but the grand scale cares only for numbers..

Anyway, all I have to say is, this is very much NOT my bag, baby.
(yeeeeah.)

Erm........ That's my point.
