Review: Nameless Downpipe + Perrin Catback (Video Inside)
Hi guys,
I have just installed my Nameless DP (over pipe with front pipe as one pipe) with Helmholtz resonator and hi-flow cat. I also have Perrin unresonated catback exhaust installed on my car before installing the DP. Fitment: The fitment was PERFECT, no rattle, no drama just spot on fitment, the Nameless DP bolts up nicely to the Perrin CBE and my mechanic kept on raving about the quality of the Nameless pipe. Performance: Performance wise the Nameless DP definitely helps with the torque dip, I can feel the car pulls much stronger from 3k and up. But under 3k there is still gain to be felt since the engine just more eager to rev all over the rev range. Sound: Now to the sound, when the engine is cold there is some rasp but it goes away literally after a few seconds when everything warms up a bit. So it was not an issue for me and it was not very loud either. When engine is up to temperature, I gained no volume when idling and I think it's even quieter when cruising on the highway due to the Helmholtz resonator. But the car definitely sounds deeper and meaner when accelerating and downshifting, it basically amplified the sound of the Perrin cat-back but without any rasp or drone, which is PERFECT. Videos: First video is on cold star, no rev. You can hear a bit of rasp. [ame]http://youtu.be/Hqh3mcZ_IbM[/ame] Second video is when the car is a bit warmer and I reved up to 5-6kish [ame]http://youtu.be/As_NpepaHaQ[/ame] Conclusion: I am 100% satisfied with my purchase and I would buy the same parts again and again if I were to do it again. Nameless and Perrin, that is. Also Jason and Matt from Nameless was extremely helpful in getting my order sorted and answering all the question that I have. My future plan for the car is install the Nameless header when it becomes available and then get my car dyno tuned. Thanks for reading,:D Shu |
Sounds great, does that make your system after market from the header back? Off topic, but I love your wheels. What size are they and what tires are you running with them?

Very nice! Just installed today my no-resonator Perrin catback and love it! Will dig into the Nameless OP+FP combo topic now. As of now (thanks for your post!) just thinking about repeating your setup.
Would very much appreciate an iside car video while cruising at 2500-3500 rpm range! ;) |
Cool setup! I have the Invidia N1 catback. I'm looking to go headerback without a cat, but I'm not sure which headers to buy.

Sure I will make you a video soon, but it is the same volume as just with the Perrin cbe, if not even quieter since the resonator cancels out all the drone |
You were parked beside me on the above ground at Leslie and Finch, love your wheels.

shu car is looking good man!
i finally order my perrin CBE, went with the 3" big boy ;-) |
Love the exhaust sound, but have a couple questions if you don't mind.
The resonator - can you provide a part or link to it? The wheels - to pull this off, are you on stock suspension or have you made some mods? I'm really wanting to pull off 18x9.5 all around as I want to move to a supercharger a little further down the road ... I'd like to only buy the TE37SLs once lol ! Any info you can provide on rub, suspension changes, or anything else would be appreciated! |
Sounds amazing!
Like the fuel pump chirping noise in the background as well :bellyroll: |

Also for TE37SLs I have 18x9.5 +40 all around on stock suspension with a 3mm spacer in the front to clear the spring perch in the front. |
