Great video man! I literally just watched this a couple days ago... I came across it from my check-youtube-for-any-new-videos-on-the-brz-or-fr-s daily ritual.

I should be getting mine this week or early next week from Heuberger. Just waiting on some paperwork and the word from Clint!

What part of the chassis shares with the Impreza? (C/net review)

I can't believe that the guys from Consumer Reports looked like they had the most fun in the cars.

The german guy looks like he had the most fun imitating boxer motor noises and such... or was that in this video?

You say it like it's a bad thing. Even if it is true, people make borrowing parts from other cars seem like it's the end of the world where in reality, it cuts cost and was engineered to suit the need for the new platform and gives you the end product that you are enjoying.

Take a look at the corrado from VW. Classic mutt with borrowed parts from the GTI, Jetta and others parts bin a few generations old. Came out with good reviews (expensive though) and even considered a modern classic on older Top Gear.

What if the BR-Z was "hacked" together with parts from the ISF and LFA? What then? Would it make it better or worse if the BR-Z had it's own developed parts but were inferior (to make it cheaper) to something borrowed from a higher-end car parts bin?

People are quick to forget that the 2JZ-GTE was taken from a family sedan in '89 that made it's way into the 90s. The supra is a car that also was hacked together from parts from the soarer and others.

I can think of plenty of other manufacturers that borrow parts from other cars and even across car make and even a few generations. Lotus, Porsche/audi/VW, Nissan, Aston Martin, BMW, Benz, Lancia, Ford, Mazda, Honda, GM, hyundai.

Virtually every production car is made having parts taken from the "parts bin". Except most of the super car segment but even then, the R8, RS4 and Gallardo shared the same heart. So I guess they are hacked together too.

Really, one of the best BRZ videos! Really convenient for me to watch. Thanks!

NICE

I figured I had seen all of these videos but I have not. (THANKS FORPOSTING) I looked at the BRZ online for about a year before my wife gave mepermission AND the color (White) and trim line (Manual Limited) was availablein my area. It seems my rural dealership finally received its allotment a yearafter the car came out. I purchased my car from the inventory of my localdealer on Memorial day 2013. I do much enjoy it and would tell others, “if youwant it get it”, finances permitting of course.

No I said it as it's the cases, you chose to to take it as you did. I'm well aware of platform sharing and parts recycling. Whether it's good or not has everything to do with the end product. I own a BRZ, if I thought it was terrible I wouldn't have bought one.
