Dirt in quarter panels...from transport?
While I was tearing into the car to do more sound deadening a few weeks back, I found a LOT of dirt compacted in the bottom of the quarter panels toward the front of the rear wheels.
I just now got a chance to check the grommets from PDI and they are installed. I'm going to assume this is from ship to truck to dealer transportation. Does that make sense or could there be more holes that need plugging? I couldn't see light coming into the panels, but they are so curvy on the inside I could have missed it. |
dude you live in wyoming...the air there is like 27% dirt it displaces most of the nitrogen...
But seriously how many miles on the car and how much dirt are we actually talking about, an ounce, a cup, 45lbs? |
There another thread for this. It's an actual hole in the body work if you removed the rubber flap at the front of the rear wheel well.

There was a lot of small rocks and a few cups of dirt. Passenger side had a noticeable amount more than the driver side. My only worry is that it was obviously damp at one time the way it had settled. Don't want anything to rust through from the wrong side. |

I'll pull off that piece and see what's going on, thanks! |
