Clear Bras
Are they really worth it?
Do they take away from the look of the car or have any downside to them? Please share your experience with them, from what I know scion has an option to have a dealer installed clear bra, wondering if it will be an option for the fr-s... |
I had it on 2 of my previous cars and I don't think it really takes away from anything aesthetically. It provides great protection from rock chips so that I don't have to worry about repainting the bumper in the future. If you drive a lot of miles on the fwy/hwy, then it's a no brainer

Meh its nice but after 5 years or so you can see a difference in color, and when buildup occurs on the edge from wax etc you can clearly see a line,
I would personally put lamin-x on the lights but thats it..... And for a grand you could easily have your bumper resprayed down the road My 2 cents:iono: |
I thought it was closer to $300 for a full front end. I'll do it. I hate that my Miata's all pitted on the bumper and hood from rocks. If it's maintained well, you hardly notice it, but if you let your car get dirty or swirly, you'll definitely be able to tell there's a bra on.

I would def. do it if it's an option.
My Sister's 2011 tC has one and that clear bra is very difficult to see, unless you look closely. And it has prevented any damage from happening to her car. It's on her front bumper, a bit of the fenders, and a bit of the hood. It's also behind every door handle, as to not get scratches there (which is truly genius.) |

Are there places that specialize in doing this? |
Does color affect the clear bra? For instance uh... white?
