Headlight protection
Has anyone put anything on their headlights yet? 3M says their paint defender shouldn't be used on headlights, but I dont see why since its just a plasti-dip clear coat. I was looking at these

For UV I use Aerospace 303 when I wash the car. Not sure what to use for physical protection.

My car's at the detailer right now, and one of the things being done is XPEL film on the headlights. I've read excellent things about it.
|
I'm interested in this too...if you have used 3M paint defender spray the headlights, please share your opinions, thanks.

Called Invisiashield and they did not recommend clear covers for headlights. The clear covers trap in the heat and shorten life of the headlights. Still think it is worth it because a broken headlight is expensive to replace. Has anyone been told the same thing about headlight covers?

I have 3M film on my headlights, fogs and DRLs, professionally installed. 3M provides the film in pre-cut templates, so I don't believe it would have any negative side effects.

Thanks! I was quoted a low price because I think they have had people come back to claim the clear covers shortened the life of the headlights.

Xpel Ultimate on my headlights for the past 1.5 years and no issues. Had 3M on my 2002 WRX for 10 years without problems. Very worth the cost for the protection it provides.

Is the dark tint on headlights legal?

I've got lamin-x on mine very light tint.. I'd rather the slight tint than let the things get sandblasted to hell.. (most of my mileage is 60mph+ commute)

Nice!
