Cost of labor to installing lowering spring

I am not sure what a fair price for installing all 4 springs.
Anyone has an idea of the fair price I should be paying?
Thanks!

Don't forget to add an aliment cost into the figure.

It shouldn't be more than about 2 hours of labour, plus any parts.

The cost will depend on your local labor rate. When I was younger and couldn't/didn't wrench on my own car, I took a car to a local shop and was quoted 3.5 hours of labor at $85/hour. You do the math.

250-300

My shop said it took 3 hours at $65 an hour.

That is insane! I did it first time with a jack and jack stands no compressor and hand tools in under 2 hours. Knowing what i know now, i could probably do it in a little over an hour. Thankfully the car is really easy to work on

I'm not bragging about my mechanical ability, it just seems like a REALLY high quote.

I heard $200 for the labor is a really good deal. But does our car really take more than two hours to install the spring??

wparsons 06-09-2013 11:37 AM

I'd be shocked if it took someone more than 2 hours of actual work to swap the springs if they know what they're doing.

The only car I've worked on that took longer was a friends' MKIV golf that took us about 3.5 hours, but working EXTREMELY hungover.
