Camber bolt help

I wanted to add some negative camber to my car for HPDE's and decided on using either camber bolts or the OEM crash bolts. So I ordered the OEM crash bolts from Toyota and had a reputable shop install and align my car. Problem was, the driver side would only get -0.7* and the passenger side would get -1.2*. Then the owner of the shop said that he had camber bolts in stock for the BRZ/FRS. So I agreed to have them install it and align my car again. So they were able to get -.1.5* on both sides no problem.

Now here's the problem. They installed the 14mm camber bolts on the top hole (SPC 81260 - Link). I just found after getting at work and looking at the invoice again. I called them back and told them I'm not comfortable with the setup and they told me to come back tomorrow and they'll fix it.

My question is, what would be better?
1) Use the OEM crash bolts on the top hole and just get -0.7? Any idea why there is a -0.5* difference between the sides?
2) Use the SPC bolts in the bottom hole. This would probably yield -1.0* but I'm worried about the bottom hole being more of a load bearing hole/bolt.

I'll be attending an HPDE this Sunday and can't wait to order parts again :(

Williaty over at NASIOC suggests using 14mm camber bolts in the bottom hole, set to max camber, and retaining the stock bolts on the top (I believe Impreza stock bolts are "crash bolts" that you can adjust to even camber out side to side).

I'm currently using stock lowers and 16mm upper camber bolts for ~1.3/1.2 camber up front.

Went to O'Reilly and picked up a set of SPC Performance 16mm camber bolts. I'll have them install this tomorrow and be set.

I hope it fits.

I ordered 81305 (which is 81260 packed with a different instruction) and plan to use it on the lower bolt.

I did not get the OEM/SPC upper bolt is because I'm using the KW V3 coilover and it has a slotted upper hole, and I'm not sure using the rectangular tab is a reliable way to secure the upper bolt's inner tab. But if anyone has experience using camber bolt on slotted hole, please let me know!

I've got subaru bolts up top and SPC on bottom, hasn't slipped yet (3 autocross events, one HPDE).

To the best of my knowledge, for the BRZ the stock crash bolts go in the TOP hole. This bolt is not an eccentric bolt (like most camber bolts).

In my 2006 WRX, there was a stock lobed camber bolt. I want to say it was in the bottom, but I may be wrong. You could also add an additional eccentric bolt to get more camber.

Back to the BRZ, I'm not sure where the reference to Williaty's thread comes from or if that is even applicable. Reference please?

wait.. so the camber bolts does not work with slotted hole?

It will work with the slotted hole, but you might not need them. Both give a range of adjustment, so if the slot alone gives you the camber you want you don't need the bolts.
