AUTOart Models coming soon.

They finally have a 1:18 GT86 up on the website for preorder for $150.

If anybody here doesn't know what AUTOart is, they are the highest detail 1:18 models out there.

The BRZ and other models/colors should pop up soon.

I'm sure they will.

TAP Auto Parts 06-07-2013 11:34 AM

AutoArt does make some really cool models. I have one of my dream car, Dodge Viper. Although, the FR-S is looking good.

Come to think of it, I have not seen a FR-S in orange yet.

That is the most off OEM color orange I've ever seen on an AUTOart. Hopefully it's just a preproduction model.

That's because the FRS doesn't come in orange. It comes in HOT LAVA...(H8R)

The359 06-07-2013 02:59 PM

I've been waiting for something in 1:18 to finally come out. Hopefully they do the BRZ, and in my color.

Shame AUTOart is getting so expensive lately. $150 for a street car? I used to be able to get their nicer race cars for under $120!

CaptainSlow 06-07-2013 03:24 PM

Why orange of all colors?

Tanuki 06-07-2013 03:26 PM

I have one of a Lemans DBR. I might get this, but I like waiting for the race cars when they release them.

Everything is getting SO expensive these days... maybe Kyosho will make one cheaper.

KritiK 06-07-2013 03:49 PM

awww I want a gt86 white as mine.... but left handed. -_-

CaptainSlow 06-07-2013 06:23 PM

Blue Silica = Ultramarine?

CamryDS 06-07-2013 06:41 PM

They need to make one with the TRD lip spoiler and the rear bottom diffuser =^_^=

CamryDS 06-07-2013 06:47 PM

Here's a company/hobbyshop that's doing presales online as well:

The359 06-07-2013 11:43 PM

The orange one is listed as a limited edition, so the other versions may be cheaper if theyre not as limited.

Brzetto 06-08-2013 01:25 AM

I will hold out for a World Rally Blue BRZ, don't care what side the wheel is on. All of my Ebbro BRZ models are RHD.

Autoart could put wheels on a turd then label it limited edition and people would still buy it.

mrlewistan 06-08-2013 03:36 AM

ive been keeping my eye out for a while now. if you go over to autoart's japanese site, the white and red gt86 are already for sale it seems. I dont know if i should hold my breath for a black FRS or just buy the red gt86 when it comes

Wise 06-08-2013 05:15 AM

I wonder if you can order a Red RHD one as a custom?

Wouldn't be that hard. Just put the orange interior in the red body.

Wise 06-08-2013 05:16 AM

They didn't get the orange quite right.

It's more metallic than that.

This picture better depicts the orange.

tomato86 06-08-2013 08:05 PM

How do they compare to Maisto? I collect them :D

CaptainSlow 06-08-2013 08:39 PM

AutoArt is noticeably better than Maisto

TOMIMOTO 06-08-2013 09:39 PM

The Pagani Zonda R they have is made up of 658 individual parts. Crazy!

dragonwiddd 06-09-2013 12:45 AM

I'm going to buy one and stick it in the middle of my dash.

Auto art blows every other model company out of the water in terms of details. Of course, that comes with a steep price tag.

Here are my two auto art models:

https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...12590835_n.jpg

And my favorite model of my entire collection:

The359 06-09-2013 01:55 PM

Yeah, Maisto is pretty much a cheap brand, I have a few of their stuff. They have some 1:18 cars that you can't find anywhere else, but the good stuff is AUTOart, Minichamps, and Kyosho. Hot Wheels also is starting to make some really nice stuff. Maisto is all metal and plastic, while AUTOart has real carpeting and fabric for their interiors.

denkigrve 06-09-2013 03:16 PM

Booo they only have the AE86 in Trueno. I collect AE86 Levin models. Where's the Levin love?

For all the budget folks RMZ has an FR-S out that I saw in Japantown in SF for like $6.99. My son has one of these in black.

http://www.toywonders.com/productcar...on-133-RMZ.jpg

That's what I'd put on my dashboard in the car, not an AutoART. Those go in glass cases.

I think you meant to say Toyota needs to make the Toyota 86 GT Limited available in North America so we have a reason to buy these models. Only logical way to do this.

I just want a toy car that looks like mine.

I would love to own a FT86 with all of the goodies but Toyota didn't show the North American owners the same love as other parts of the world.

But I have my whiteout FR-S which is the same car as the others with a different twist.:D

alexmotrix 06-10-2013 09:33 PM

The biggest one is my limited edition "tuned" autoart ae86, I like it so much, now I need to get an FRS asap

The359 07-23-2013 05:22 AM

I just got a newsletter from a diecast wholesaler I buy from occassionally, some new Chinese diecast company has the European Toyota GT86 in 1:18.

http://www.centurydragon.com.hk/en/showcase/item/112

The Century Dragon version is sold in red, white pearl, and what appears to be the correct orange, and all three are left-hand drive.

http://www.diecastmodelswholesale.co...a-86-GT/Detail (red)

http://www.diecastmodelswholesale.co...a-86-GT/Detail (white pearl)

http://www.diecastmodelswholesale.co...a-86-GT/Detail (orange metallic)

Now I've never heard of this Century Dragon before, so I can't speak of their quality, but the price of $135 is actually slightly more expensive than the AutoArt price on the same website, so take that for what you will. From the pictures though, I think the engine detail looks much better than the AutoArt, and the interior might even be better as well.

Wise 07-23-2013 05:49 AM

I wish they'd make Red in RHD and without the spoiler.

Do Autoart have a habit of doing some colours first and then others later?

The359 07-23-2013 08:24 PM

Yes, they usually don't come out with all variants of a design at the same time.

Check out the wheels - the AutoART ones look way better than the Century Dragon ones, which appear almost like 16"
