I Hope FR-S Pre-Ordering Starts Soon!
Now that it is heavily speculated that the BRZ is gongi to start pre-orders on Feb 27th with possible pricing available I hope Scion doesn't drop the ball and wait too long to start their ordering process. Pricing wouldn't hurt either.
I am someone who has a BRZ Limited and a FR-S on hold (2nd in line for both) for $500 over invoice. Abd I hate to hold up the dealers due to one manufacturer taking their time to get the ball rolling! |
I wonder if there is massive infighting regarding the price. I cant otherwise understand why the delay in releasing price figures. Would not be surprised if Toyota (Scion) is willing to simply breakeven and use this car as a marketing/reverse halo.

Would somebody take this guy's New Thread button away?

FYI - Scion Dealers have already started making their own lists. I personally put down 500 bucks on an order on Jan 16th of this year. I just walked into the showroom on my lunch break and did it.
Also, not sure if it counts for the states or not, but Scion Canada just put up their preorder website a few days ago. I think its pretty much the canadian version of the "First 86 Program" but not sure. https://www.scion.ca/scion/secure/pre-order-frs bneale |

That's a bit rude. |
They can't release pricing until you can order. Remember in Japan a few weeks back? They released pricing and you were able to order. The same thing is happening here in the US and Canada.
The first 86 winners will pre order at the same time...probably next week but they will get their cars at least 2 weeks early...probably late April early may. The rest of us late may to June. It takes at least a month to build the car and then it has to ship and go through the port on a train the truck to the dealer. So figure at least 2 months after you place the order. |

The Gunma Production line starts fully for the FR-S Monday, March 26th. This doesn't include the First 86, since it seems those have already been produced according to leaked photos in Torrance, CA.
After the vehicles have been manufactured, they take about 45-60 days to get here through customs and to the dealership. There is no word on ordering yet from Toyota. This is exactly what my dealership told me last night. |

Interesting. It just would've been nice if Subaru and Scion were on the same page as far as release. But than again they are competing against eachother in sales as much as we would like to think otherwise! |
