Rotors, pads and fluid change
 

Hey just thought id give my experiece with my brake changes incase anyone was looking for an alternative to 3-6k big brake kits.
Here is what i did

Drilled & Slotted Rotors (stock size)- $250
Agency Power Steel Brake Lines-$70
Stop Tech Brake Fluid- $15
Hawk HPS Pads- $100
Total- $435

Took the car out to VIR this weekend with my cousin who has the brembo set up on his FRS and here are first impressions thus far with the set up

Tracking-
Me and my cousins FRS with the brembo's lasted within a lap of eachother. May be hard to believe but its true! With this set up, it seems to counter the fast fading braking. I think the issue with this car isnt stopping a huge amount of weight like a mustang or M5 but the heat and stock pads. So far with around 30-35 laps of VIR, this set up seems to do perfect. His brakes i believe lasted 1 more lap than mine before they started getting spongey and not as effective. Overall, the HPS pads seem great. I know Hawk makes HP which are more track ready but the HPS seemed to do well.

Street-
There isnt a huge difference at first in normal city driving (as you would probably expect) but there is a difference after several hours of city driving. With the stock set up around an hour into city driving the brakes would mildly fade but with the set up above it brakes everytime like its cold. Ive only had to slam on the brakes once so far (due to stupid deer that run out) and there is the second difference. The set up above grips consistently and more so in general than the stock set up.

Overall, im very happy with this set up and will probably not go to brembos or any of the other big brake kit unless i turn it into my dedicated track car which with 90 hour work weeks probably isnt gunna happen. Hope this helps!

What pads did your cousin's Brembo setup have? Big brakes don't fully mitigate the shortcomings of street pads on the track.

More importantly, how do your lap times compare to @GTM_Challenge's? You'll likely need upgrades as you get faster :)

Track times were almost identical as well. I believe he was using stoptech pads
