Thursday March 1st - preorder date for BRZ

Edit: Preorder Date now March 1st !

Everyone,

I know that several of you have posted in various threads that your Subaru dealer has reached out to you indicating that they should be able to take BRZ preorders next Monday.

I realize this is not new information, but I thought we could consolidate this into one thread.

Quote:

Hi xxxx,

All people on the BRZ list can start pre orders on Monday. The sold order will be based on when you give us a deposit

Thank you!
xxxxx
I am in the process of confirming this with Dave and I's dealer in Tampa, but given the number of positive posts on this topic, it looks like we are off to the races next Monday. I'm so excited!

Dave-ROR 02-21-2012 12:32 PM

Oh hell yes!!!!! That means pricing too!!!

Zaku 02-21-2012 12:35 PM

Not necessarily pricing.

Zaku 02-21-2012 12:48 PM

Wonder who will be the first here with a BRZ

I asked that question and they felt they would have it either at the preorder date or shortly after. They indicated between 25-30k, which is not anything we have not heard already.

I just remember someone saying pricing didn't necessarily have to be released at order time. But hopefully it will.

Hard to do a sold order (which IS a contract) without pricing. Basing the sold order part on the email from the jax dealer.

Zaku 02-21-2012 12:59 PM

I feel like thats a make oe brake day if the price is too high people will drop out if its just right itll prolly explode with orders.

I can see this being an issue in states where deposit is non-refundable. Otherwise price is not too relevant at this point, since you can always walk away later.

Great news BUT:

"In March initial allocation numbers will be announced, and sometime around then, pricing. "

is what i was told

Zgrinch 02-21-2012 01:07 PM

I imagine we will also learn about the spoiler delete and if that is going to be an option. Really going back and forth on this one, but kinda thinking to keep at this point.

A deposit and a contract tend to be different. A sold order is literally a contract to purchase (at least as I've seen it used in my previous car purchases), not a deposit. Without specific wording it shouldn't be assumed to be refundable anywhere. Obviously most dealers will sign an agreement (I'd assume/hope) stating that it is pending the test drive and such but I'd suggest requesting that from your dealer in writing if they are really talking about an actual sold order. Now if they are just talking about a pre-order request and you aren't signing a contract then it's not an issue and pricing doesn't have to be released.

It's relevant to people who are borderline between a Limited and Premium trim, knowing which to put in their order for.

Yup; My concern as well. I have a spot for the limited but if it comes out over my budget wat then? :mad0259:

Longhorn248 02-21-2012 01:25 PM

So I have a dilemma. I have a deposit with one dealer that puts me fourth in line, but I also have a spot in line with another dealer that says I'm first. However, with the second dealer I don't have a deposit down. Who should I place my order with. The second dealer has kept better communication with me, maybe that's because they don't already have my money...

If they are selling it to you for is the same price, then door #2, so you get it quicker.

I just shot off an e-mail to door #2 about the 27th so we'll see what he says. Maybe I'll be surprised and get an email from the dealer I have a deposit with in the next couple of days.

No idea..l this is all I got from another source.

Tainen 02-21-2012 01:51 PM

3rd in line at my dealer, Carter Subaru in WA.

M-17 02-21-2012 01:55 PM

Well, I'll be sitting back waiting on a price, but I'm very tempted to just pull the trigger and put a deposit down for the pre-order. Hope to hear good news soon.

My dealer said that package will contain the following:

The Dealership Launch Guide to support the 2013 Subaru BRZ.
The Advanced Product Guide section includes:
2013 BRZ Features, Accessories, Models and Options and Color Options
2013 BRZ Specifications: Engine, DriveTrain, Steering and Suspension, Braking, Wheels and Tires
and Exterior Dimensions
We have also developed a takeaway that can be given to customers that show interest in the BRZ.
2013 BRZ Consumer Takeaway: Focuses on BRZ Specifications between both Premium and
Limited Trim models

tranzformer 02-21-2012 02:04 PM

Who will post the real official prices first? Lol

Zaku 02-21-2012 02:06 PM

Not me.....*halo over head* but depending on the news, if it's good news I'll run over to a Subaru and get on a list. I don't mind waiting but all the other cars I've owned has been first model year so it's not like much will change for me XD

Khyron686 02-21-2012 02:07 PM

Dunno how they can expect firm non-refundable deposit orders when you haven't even sat in the model before, let alone driven it.

My dealer said even if the order is firm and the car arrives, I can walk away (as they will have no problems selling it to someone else).

maxeveland 02-21-2012 02:22 PM

idk why any dealer would say deposit is nonrefundable

cassidy0998 02-21-2012 03:22 PM

Yeah, will most likely not mean pricing.

Edit: ^ sarcasm lol... we'll find out soon enough

Good point. I'm already set on the limited so I didn't even think of that :)

They have to announce the pricing, if they are actually going to place an order on the 27th...this is a real order not a pre-order. That also means the car is less than 60 days out....Yeah! So late April to early may is not entirely possible for the first batch!

I am going limited...just don't know what the color is going to be....I am ok if it don't get on the first batch...as long as I get mine this summer. Push button start baby!
Hehe...

Why on earth would anyone pre-order without a price, or to be honest, a test drive. I seriously want one too, but I'm not doing a damn thing until they have an official price and I give it a really serious test drive.

Everyone is really jumping the gun on this, its cool to be excited for a new car, but it seems people are making irrational decisions on such a major purchase!
