2013 production date cars more "reliable?"
 

are you guys with later production date cars (like 2013) having better luck with your cars? or are you guys still having a lot of the same issues?

The later the build date the more likely you are to not have as many problems as the earlier builds. Mine was August 2012 and the only (key word only) issue I've had in 10,000 miles was the rattle from the package shelf that has become so minor that I no longer am concerned about it.

They could have new problems :)

I have yet to encounter any issues with my vehicle yet. I have only had slight high pressure fuel pump chirping noise, but for now i have just switched gas stations and I have not heard it as often.. Now I do not drive nearly as far anymore for work, so i barely have my car do long trips now.

My only problem is this light pop/creak noise which I know what exactly it is, I work for toyota, so im just waiting for a slow day to have my technician fix it up (he has already done it three times, so he knows what exactly to fix)

everything else has been great, not so much idle hunting, i do get an occasional (feels like a mis-fire) on start-ups/warm ups. kinda scares me, but not MIL (malfunction indicator lamp) for now. Im keeping a close eye.

I bought my car in March, and I currently have 5200 miles on it.

October 2012 production. Just 2 issues:

- Scratches driver's side window
- Minor idle issues (rare and not scary so far)

manufactured Jan/2013, i only have the chirp so far...@3000 miles

March 2012 Production...very few, minor issues. All corrected under warranty;
Chirping & Rear Shelf Noise.

I received my BRZ just over a week ago and I've racked up over 1100km already!
I have heard some annoying rattles in the centre head unit as well as the supply rack in the rear. No chirps yet but who knows when/if that'll be coming?
I will update as more annoyances come up. :)

I got 11 000 KM on my car and it was built in May 2012. (13 months old!)

I have crickets 5% of the time and had the rear shelf poping that I fixed myself (I never had to go to the dealer for anything). Everything else is working fine. Not every car has problem, luck of the draw...

Only thing I've encountered was cricketing sounds from the HPFP.

Production of my car was in FEB 2013, Picked up the car in March 23rd 2013.

January 2013 build. Chirp is my only problem

January 13 or end of December 2012 build. only have cricket issue but nothing much.
but injector sealing story is scaring me.

Just got mine two weeks ago came off the last shipment to Vancouver, got 2500 km on it no chirping no problems.

Same here but mine was delivered to me June 2012.
