Feeler: Group Gokarting #2
 

Since we had a pretty good turn out last time and it seemed like folks had a lot of fun, just wanted to gauge interest in another go-karting meet.

This time, I think we could try a different place, perhaps Gokart Racer at Burlingame or Umigo at Livermore or even K1 (electric karts) in San Jose, but I have not had a good time in those in the past (in a similar place in Sacramento).

To make it worth while, we'll probably do a "mega-track" night where the places usually combine two smaller tracks into one large one.

GoKart Racer @ Burlingame - Sun 5-9pm, Mon 12-10pm
Umigo @ Livermore - No mega-track, only runs 1 config at a time, so any day & time
K1 @ Santa Clara - No mega-track, only runs 1 config at a time, so any day & time
LeMans Karting @ Fremont - Tues-Fri 6-9pm

Count me in! Love the gokarting even though I am heavy/slow. :D

I'm in. Been wanting to go karting recently, just haven't had the right opportunity. Hopefully it'll work with my work schedule/location.

Most likely will be a week night, seeing as most people (including me) have plans for the wonderful summer weekends.

I've updated the first post with the when & where options, hope that helps. Seems as though there is interest, so I'll start planning.

How good is the ventilation at Umigo? Last I went to Lemans Karting in Fremont, the fumes made me so nauseous, I had to stop after 30 minutes.

I think it's a bit better than Lemans Karting because the warehouse is about 2x as big and same # of karts.

Granted, I vomit at pretty much every track day, but that's usually after many hours, not 30 minutes. Sounds interesting. It would have to be a Sunday for me, and it's a big maybe, but I'm definitely interested.

FYI, Umigo runs 12 minute sessions all week until 7pm on Friday when it switches to 8 minutes. Then, starts up again on Sunday at 6pm with 12mins. My vote would be for one of the days when we get 12 minutes of track time for the same price. The short sessions suck.

I think GKR does the same, shortening their sessions on Friday/weekends but not sure when it lasts until.

Im in at Umigo or GKR as weekends work better unless its close by. You thinking end of this month or early next month since 86 expo is in a few weeks?
