Cosworth Internal Upgrades Confirmed

Just thought I would send an email to Cosworth to see if they are doing anything on the BRZ/FRS motor. They replied with:

"Yes, we will have a product offering for this motor in both NA (Natural Aspiration) and FI (Forced Induction) trim."

Not sure if this is new news to anyone but we all need something from this company to lower compression and have forged pistons/rods for Turbo/SC.

COOL.

:D

They were working on the new 1600 turbo motor for Subaru.

Is this going to be a race-only type package or would it be a kit with internals, etc that you could put in your street car?

I'd be horribly interested in upgrading the engine, staying NA, and putting out in the neighborhood of 250hp. Once the ECU is cracked and the bolt-ons are done, this seems like the next step....I fully intend to turn my FR-S/BRZ into the performance equivalent of a Cayman (not a Cayman S).

Thats good news. The more aftermarket jumping in the better.

gotta love cosworth if they release some sort of mapping package + stroker kit that helps towards a reliable NA 230 FWHP i'd be all up for that

I wonder if they mean by the FI comment that they will be developing a turbo kit for it, or they will be working on the FI with subaru for the next WRX
