Two vertical streak marks on windows

This happens on both driver and passenger side. I washed the car and wiped the windows and noticed that these marks will show up maybe a day or so later. Obviously this happens after having rolled the windows all the way down then back up. I'm thinking the inside of the door is dirty somehow, any suggestions?

I saw an FRS earlier on the street and noticed the same thing lol.

I also get squeeky window noises at the last inch or two when rolling up to close during the mornings. Again, both sides.

I've seen this on every FR-S I've been around, including mine. I've just been too lazy to try and get them off.

Do they definitely go away with a good wash or are they just harder to see? Is the glass etched at all? Can you feel a textural transition on the stripe? If it isnt physical could it be some sort of grease inside the window mechanism?

Its only a few screws to take the door panel off. You could look and see if anything is rubbing or touching the glass when down. Also inspect the felt at the base of the window frame for oil or grease. Its odd that the stripes are so even, almost looks like a manufacturing thing.

Hmm, I seem to be having a similar problem, except mine isn't that bad. Only happens when it's wet outside though.

i can wipe it clean but it'll show up again the next time i go to Del Taco drive thru haha. I tried cleaning the felt liner but it wasn't that dirty. If it's just a few screws to remove the door i'm gonna give it a try. Until then, pretty much not bother wiping the windows anymore.

i believe it's the little roller "guides" to roll the window down smoothly

It's this. I haven't really ever gotten rid of it.

its due to the frameless design. My 97 240sx also had the streaks.

Mine is like that too. Does this happen to all of us? Has someone figured out a solution or is this something we have to put up with for the time being?
