what is your tire pressure?
what's your tires specs and how many psi do you have in your tires?
thanks |
I put factory specs. If I'm correct they are 25 ... Or 35. When I got them from the dealership it was at 50 psi ... Crazy
|
I have 255/35/18 specs.. I have 40 psi on all four of them.. is that safe? thanks
:) |
I believe it's safe as long as u don't go over the limit which is 50psi. But when I was running with 50 the car didn't have much feel on the tires, felt like my car was just gliding ... When I dropped it down 30 it felt more connected to the ground hence more rubber touching.

When I air up cold I usually go 2 lbs. over what shows inside the door.

35 here. Plus don't forget if you do a lot of highway driving on summer to go down on the pressure a bit since excessive heat increases tire pressure and you don't want it increasing to over 55-60, too dangerous.

i changed my tire pressure to 37psi on all four.... thanks guys

I don't see why people would think 40 is too much. The tire is rated for a max of 50. If you put too low of pressure in the tire, it will start cupping and wearing unevenly. Cupping occurs when the outside edges of the tire wear down and the center part doesn't. My tires are around 32 now I think, but I am going to bump them up to 40.
Lower tire pressure also makes your car slower to accelerate and lowers your MPG. |
