High Pressure Fuel Pump Difference? Toyota vs. Subaru

Is there a difference on the toyota pump and subaru highr pressure fuel pump?

Each one has their own part number and price.

Subaru costs around $580

But the toyota one is like $1300. Almost double.

What do yoy guys think?

I need to replace mine asap and need to know if there is a difference or not

Doesn't both cars have the same pump? How come u need to replace urs?

LavosTRD 06-01-2013 09:58 PM

Same pump. All of toyota's parts that they source from subaru start with SUxxx-xxxxx. Hence the subaru # is more a standard part number. Toyota probably has to "buy" them from subaru, hence the mark up on top of mark up. Just my speculation

There are a lot of parts that cost a lot more in the Scion dealer. It's the same. How are you 1000% certain the problem is the HPFP??

Still getting the p1235 and a new P0625D codes.

Ecu was reflashed to stock, in tank FP was replaced and still the car will not start

Tell your tuner to set the car to run 100% on the port injectors, start it. Then the same for HPFP (car shouldn't start), that way you can be 100% sure its the HPFP.

Did you / they test the injector driver? That is where the signal comes from . Per the FSM:

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT:
If the current from the INJ relay is cut because DTC P062D is stored, DTC P1235 will be stored
even if the fuel pump assembly (for high pressure) is normal
.

Did you ever have any one of P1261,2,3 or 4?

Your ecu needs a dealer reflash.
