Borla or Magnaflow Exhaust

So i recently just purchased berks track pipe and im not to satisfied with having only one exhaust tip. I've been thinking about getting the borla or magnaflow exhaust system for some time now but i just cant decide on which one. Also i feel like the youtube videos arent doing enough justice for the exhaust. Has anyone dealt with either one and we're you satisfied with the sound and quality any help would be appreciated. thinking about ordering one today! And lastly i have an injen cold air intake on the car.

I have a Magnaflow and like it. It has a nice deep tone and no drone, but is not loud. It is lighter than stock (but not by a lot). Build quality is decent, fit and finish are good, and it has a nice burble and grrr when you lift off the gas or downshift. I do have some oxidation on the pipe that leads from the cat to the axle-back section, and there is some surface rust on the welds on the inlet pipe going into the muffler. The muffler and tips still look like new. I've had it almost a year and drove it through a salty Canadian winter, so I don't think the climate in Texas would be as hard on it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again. I think it placed 3rd overall in DSport's exhaust shootout last year.

Do you have pics of it and or the sound by any chance? I'm still debating on what exhaust to get

IIRC the Borla has a full on muffler in the mid pipe where most exhausts have their resonator, therefore potentially causing ground clearance (more so when lowered). Do a search on the forum and you should be able to find more on what i'm talking about.

Does it sound pretty aggressive? I want to try to stay away from rice as much as possible lol.

I have the Borla exhaust and like it for a few reasons.

1- It weighs 10lbs less than stock.

2- The heaviest part, the muffler, is located in front of the rear axle for a better polar moment of inertia. Also, no ground clearance issues (I'm dropped)

3- Designed with flow in mind.

4- Sounds amazing with catless headers!

I wouldn't buy a magnaflow based purely on their treated of the ft86club member who lent them his car for r&d

I don't, and I'm not sure if I have seen any posted here. There were some pics in the DSport test and that is posted in the exhaust/intake/etc section. I think Magnaflow has some sound clips on their site, but clips and computer speakers rarely give an accurate impression.

No. It is pretty mellow...deep, but mellow. Not ricey or buzzy at all.

Cool man im just trying to find exactly what i want before i spend all that cash. My friend has an 06 STI and man did that thing sound so mean! Ive never really listened to subaru's or messed with them before so i guess that image stuck in my head about how a subaru should sound, but again an frs isnt an sti or an fb engine. Alot of people say to get the greddy EVO 3, but its not really my taste. Anyways i appreciate the input man

Can't find the thread now but cliffnotes was they drove the car way more than the agreed mileage, made vides of aggressive driving with his car without asking him. pretty much just poor treatment of the member and lack of respect is all.

Yeah, magnaflow basically treated a forum member who helped them with R&D like crap (racked up a ton of unauthorized miles, huffed and puffed when he asked for his stock exhaust back, didn't refill the gas tank after joyriding) and didn't care when he said that he was going to post about his experience. Magnaflow thinks they're just too good....:paddle:
