Light popping sound when I steer, even when parked.

Something my car seems to have done for as long as I can remember is make light popping noises from *somewhere* when I steer. Even if I am just parked in my garage. Not all of the time, but I can always demonstrate it if I need to, it's common enough. It's very slight, and very ambiguous. Even when I had a friend steer for me while I looked around on the outside, it was hard to pinpoint.

It sounds more like it's coming from the rear, but when you are in the cabin it's hard to really nail down the location. Honestly it sounds as if the chassis is creaking a bit.

I've poked around the suspension and ball joints and nothing seems lose. I plan on having it looked at when I bring it in for service in the next couple of weeks, but I was curious if this is just a noise that is characteristic of the car, or if anybody else is experiencing the same thing.

check all the engine subframe bolts, I had a few loose, tightened them and some noises stopped..

Ended up being the splashplate was not fastened correctly.
