Base radio and streaming Pandora

The streaming function works fine, the problem is the display always shows whatever song is loaded up on the mp3 player.

In other words, when I turn on Pandora and a song starts playing a totally different song is displayed on the radio. The displayed song is one that is physically saved to my phone.

So far I am unable to figure out a work around.

I'm using a Samsung S3 with Android 4.1.1

The Pandora App does not send the song/artist data over bluetooth. You need to find a "hacked" Pandora .apk somewhere on the web that will send the data.

I ended up deleting all the songs on my phone, I never use my phone to play mp3s anyways. With no music on there no song title is displayed. I find this less annoying

Well that is one way to get rid of the mislabeled songs!

Im reviving this thread because I know theres someone out there that knows the answer. Im having the exact problem as the OP. I have a Galaxy Note 3 and it wont show the info but on my previous phone (Galaxy S4) it did at one point but cant remember if was running custom ROM or was stock. I do know that at the end right before selling it, it was not showing the info. FYI iPhone 5 with iOS 7 does show info from pandora.

Any pointers on why this is and how to fix it would be appreciated. I just started using Spotify trial and its AWESOME! Im always finding new tracks and its super annoying having to look down to the phone.

I have a Galaxy S3. Unhacked, not altered. And pandora works on my stock head unit. Its not a bespoke unit.

You're saying you can read the artist/track info from your Pandora app on your non-bespoke head unit?

ravenblackfrs 12-07-2013 11:25 AM

Yes. Every track. Even shows "NO INFORMATION ON ADVERTISEMENT" when the ads play on pandora. I can adjust volume. I can pause and play.

azian_advanced 12-07-2013 12:01 PM

Interesting.. I wonder how that happened. Well, if you ever get tired of ads, the link I posted includes ad-free versions of Pandora that you can download.

FWIW: My Nexus 5 lists the track/artist info on Pandora as well.

DUUUUDE! Thanks sooo much! following the thread I was able to find out excacly what the issue is: (From this 9thgencivic thread)

"Android in general seems to lack many new Bluetooth features that have been around for quite some time, including the AVRCP 1.3 Bluetooth stack. This allows for the transmission of track/album/artist information to the Heads Up Display on the center console."

Im in the process to figure out the solution. Ill post my findings once I do. Im sure theres plenty of fellow drivers having this issue with several cars since the same thing happens with my wife's CX5 (its an android thing).

I was using the app in the Civic forum above for my Pandora so that it would broadcast the AVRCP stuff. The app started to get a bit odd so I uninstalled it and installed an updated official version of Pandora and it now broadcasts the title/artist/etc to my desk just fine. So you may try updating your Pandora before you try the "patched" app from that site.

That quote you read is utter BS. Android apps have been doing that for years (I've been using android since the Google G1 arrived on my doorstep on 10/31/2008). It's just that some apps simply don't integrate it. But almost all the music apps do.

It is annoying when the icecast and audiobook apps don't, though. But that's developers more than anything.
