Good AutoBody Shop to Fix Rock Damage
Well my mind is blown
First day the FRS finally out of the garage for the season, driving to work, BAM, nice big rock courtesy of transport truck right to my Hood. Took the paint off right down to the metal. It has a little ding from the rock and many small scratches http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c1...ps1748e594.jpg When I bought the car i got the Titan Care package but I'm not sure if it will cover this considering it needs paint and they say their repair process is "paintless" So who knows a very reputable body shop who will do a good job? UPDATE Just a note, the Scion Paint Code for "Whiteout" is "37J" |
damn that's bad
time to buy a new car, only solution |
call your insurance and file a diminished value claim, otherwise I'd find a rear end total and swap hoods while crossing fingers the paint matches perfect.
|
Same thing happened to my firestorm last week.. Still don't know what to do..
|
If you're willing to make the drive to Barrie
Radical Rods Rides and Restorations is THE place for body work. As well as any and every cutom build you can imagine. |
Man sucks so bad
I wonder how much a Carbon Fiber Hood would cost compared to repairing this. |
Just in case you don't know, this type of loss would be covered by the comprehensive coverage in your insurance policy. I mention this only because a lot of guys have a considerably smaller deductible for comprehensive than they do for collision. Some even have a no deductible under comprehensive. Also, I have never known an insurance company to let a comprehensive claim have any bearing on a persons premium.
|
Really eh?
I never even considered insurance as I figured it would effect premiums |
why are american's from different states commenting on Canada's insurance laws?
can you verify that comprehensive claims will not affect premiums? |
call the cent doctor
$125 -$175 max to fix this. Don't bother with insurance. I think it was the same dump truck that did it to mine in the winter.
|
Dent doctor works magic for dents, but if it's scratched to bare metal they probably won't be much help.
I've got a similar thing on my hood, going to have it pulled by the dent doctor then try my dr colorchip on it afterwards. |
Err you gonna go to a body shop for THAT?
Just spend $50 on a pack of Dr.ColorChip, then apply sealant on that part and call it a day. It's on the hood, it won't rust. After you fix that little part, just don't drive it anymore. Clean the car really well and put it away for storage. Just look at it once in a while. We live in a dangerous world man... |
says the guy that had to make a forum post about whether he should drive his fresh car off the lot and into a blizzard.
|
My camera sucks and cant pickup all the scratches or the ding but trust me its there.
Anyways i have "Paintless Dent Removal" as part of my waranty, not sure if that will help in this case as the dent is very small. |
