True I don't mind it as an option for those who want it. I just love how the "naked" wheel looks. So simple and perfect.

According to Engadget, it is supposed to be an option along with the steering wheel controls.

Might force me to go the preorder route, as I'm not sure if they will get this feature in the "allotted" cars shipped to the dealers. Time will tell.

At first I thought buttons were going to bother me, but after I got used to my Forester and the Miata I had for this week end it wasn't so bad. I still don't need it but I hope it's an option for everyone who wants it. And I don't mind if my car comes with it. Highly unlikely for a premium... recently I had a debate in my head... to lease a Limited or buy a Premium lol I figure if I least a Limited till the MMC the MMC premium might be a hell better. Or by that time the limited would have deappricated that it's more affordable. I know my limit atm and anything above 28K I cannot afford without some struggle. Which technically mean I could buy a FRS right off if it's around 25 and a BRZ Premium if it's around there too. Ofcourse...I gotta be responsible n stuff lol

You take a pic of the window sticker? If it is the proper Subaru retail sticker it'd be great to see :-)

probably will have to wait and see what kind of lease terms you can get. A RWD sports coupe will probably have a low residual...at least if you are buying shortly after release since there will be no market to prove otherwise and the dealer has you by the short and curlies as far as negotiating lease terms go. Not only do you have to worry about negotiating the price on a hot car you have to negotiate the lease portion as well which can make it very expensive. Still might be the better option if you think you might want to upgrade after a couple years to a turbo version or whatever they have out by then.

Good news on the back seats too. photos like this one are what had me concerned...

I'm only 5'-9" but this is about how much room was in the back of an audi TT coupe when I test drove one of those several years ago and I think that car may actually be bigger than this one. Anyway hopefully that driver seat is as far back as it goes and a 6'-7" driver would fit behind the wheel in that position.

Youll be ok on the back seats I tested it when i reviewed the car in dc a month ago you can see the pic in the dc auto show thread. You should be able to fit children and passengers not taller than 5'4 just fine. Only children behind the driver seat but should be fine either way on passenger side.

The windows sticker was blank with handwriting that said "for transportation only".

Awesome 86. Glad you got a dealer who'd respect your money!

:) Was the manager named Desiree?

dookie11 02-19-2012 04:56 AM

Wait. Is this located in Irvine, as in Irvine CA, as in SoCal Irvine? If yes, then can we just freely go see it??? I definitely don't mind driving there from SGV!
