Possible Relocation to Indianapolis

I have received a good job offer in the Indianapolis area. Is there anyone on here in Indy willing to offer their opinion of living there? I'm tossed up about this relocation and would like to know what the people there think of the area. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Whoa.. Toledo.. are there still jobs in Toledo? I left there ~20 years ago.

Indy.. eh not my favorite area, but I've never spent any real time there so I'll let the locals answer :)

LMAO.... Not many of them thats for sure. I would think Indy has to be better than Toledo but I just don't know for sure.

I'm from SE Michigan (Adrain) so a trip to Toledo was almost a weekly occurance. I've lived in Indy since 97. I wouldn't recommend moving to Downtown or anything inside the 465 loop but any of the smaller suburbs around indy are all relatively nice. Fisher's, Nobelsville and Geist are all nice but unless you like traffic I would stay away from those area's. The south side has Greenwood and Beach Groove, West is Plainfield, Avon, Brownsburg (Where I Live), North is Lebanon, Westfield, Nobelsville, Fishers, Geist, East is Oaklandon, Greenfield, Wannamaker and Acton. Depending on where the Job is in Indy is what I would base of the town I wanted to move to. The east side is prolly the "roughest" side of town. Every town I listed you can get to Downtown Indianapolis in about 25-45 mins depending on traffic. The good thing about Indy is the 465 loop. Using it, you can get almost anyplace in town relativily fast. There is a decent amount of stuff to do in Indy as well along with Indiana. There are a few dirt and paved tracks about and 1-1.5 hrs from Indy. Putnam Park Road Coarse is about 1.5-2 hrs from Indy. There are the Colts(NFL), Pacers(NBA), Indians (Minor League Baseball), Indiana Ice (Junior Hockey), Fever (WNBA), Nascar Brickyard 400, Indy 500, and Moto GP at the Speedway, and the US Mac Tools Nationals (drag racing) for professional sports. Tons of bars and nightclubs downtown. Good places to eat everywhere, a handful of Micro Brews, High end resturants about everything you could want. My personal opionin is I like living near Indy. If your a car guy there are almost always a car show everyweekend of the summer. Different car clubs around town as well. Also being centered in the state you can get to many major metropolitan areas in a few hours, Chicago, Louisville, Cincinnati, Ft.Wayne Etc. End of rant.

My Opinion: Indianapolis is much better then Toledo!

Thank you, I appreciate the input....It turns out the offer was too good for me to turn down. I am relocating within the month. I will be working at Indy regional airport which is a bit east of the loop and between I-69 and I-70. I know there are also some great mountain bike trails not far away which is a bonus, Toledo doesn't have much to offer in the way of mountain biking. I look forward to a frs/brz meetup in the area once I'm there.

Yes Brown County State Park has some very nice trails for Mountain Biking. About an hour and half south on 65 from my house. Yep know exactly what Airport your talking about. It is over towards Greenfeild I-70 and Mt. Comfort Rd. We should be having another 86 meet in the month of June.
