Heuberger Purchases

I've put my deposit down on the BRZ at Heuberger Subaru, but I live in California, and the car should be coming in around June 13.

For those that bought from Heuberger, or even if you bought from out of state elsewhere,
  • did you pay tax twice, once for the state you purchased in and once for CA?
  • what state did you title the car in?
  • what state did you register the car in?

you should ony pay the taxes where you register the car..

Did you have yours shipped or did you drive it back? I was at the DMV today and they said I'd need to take delivery in CA or else I'd be paying tax for both... I don't know how that works...

You should be credited the sales tax paid in another state...if that's what you're talking about. In other words, you're not going to pay double the sales tax of someone who buys in CA...

You should be only paying tax once.

The tax is calculated and collected by Heuberger. When they send you your title and documents, they'll also include a check for the sales tax to give to the CA DMV when you register the vehicle.

When I first read the title I was confused on why someone would post about buying hamburgers.. dyslexic :bonk:

Yes, I'm hoping for that... My purchase price for the limited was ridiculously low! :happyanim:

For people who purchased their BRZs from Heuberger: did you have to get your car smogged when you registered over here? Just curious because when I went to register my car last year (which was shipped from NV), I had to get it smogged and now I think I have to get it smogged every 2 years instead of the standard first 5 years.
