simple 5 spokes
I've been searching this forum, and doing my own research and I haven't found a single set of basic 5 spoke wheels for an FR-S that I like and can afford.
Things I'm trying to avoid: Overly expensive wheels. There are a ton of wheels for this car that are in the $400-650 range, just not the 5 spokes I'm looking for. Wheels with more than one bolt pattern. I think it looks cheap having extra lug holes. Fancy designs. I just want a plain 5 spoke wheel. I think that style looks great on these cars. Really thin spokes. I like wheels with a little bit of meat on them. Is there anything out there that I've missed? To sum it up, I'm looking for a set of clean 5 spoke wheels in either silver, polished, or gloss black in the $400-$650 range with just the 5x100 bolt pattern in 17" |
Rota RT5's are what I run.
The spoke are a little thick but it looks great. |
another thing I should mention is I'm looking for something that will fit on stock tires. I've looked at those before, and I like them, but I think they only offer 17x9

I've got similar wheels but 7 spoke and I love them http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37192 PS: The 5 spoke pics show more than one bolt pattern which you don't want, but the ones I got only had pre-drilled pilot holes and look fine. Maybe they can get you a set without multiple bolt patterns. |

There's PLENTY of choices available since you don't want wide wheels or a crazy offsets, most of the cheap wheels will fit the stock tires so don't worry about that too much.

I wish they still made Desmond Regamaster Marquis Promadas. Best 5-spoke wheel in my opinion they were known to be Spoon-rebranded SW388 wheels. Knock off wheels are Nippon Racing F2 and Rota Slipstreams.

Options are gonna be a bit slim. There are some choices out there, but if you considered the $1,000/set price range, a lot more options would become available. Understand that not everybody has $$ out the ass to spend on their car but 1k for a set of wheels is still really damn cheap. |
Well I found what I want. They're by TSW and expensive, so it looks like I'll have to start saving. They have an amazing collection of wheels.
