Out of curiosity which one do you guys like more, that white light up look or pure red/amber? :) Imo I think the BRZ amber has a more sporty appearance while the FRS somehow looks more fancier to me and the red needle really POPS out at you :P idk what do you guys think?

Hope this isn't an old thread revived lol :bonk:

you can also see very subtle differences

i like the FRS better

I prefer the Subaru lighting. The Scion cluster just makes me think they went cheap and decided to light up a lot more than what was necessary (can there be light pollution on a instrument cluster?).

The Subaru cluster lights up only what is needed. I think that makes it look a lot cleaner.

Much easier to see the FRS tach without having to look.

lol i guess there wouldnt be any trouble seeing it or else that would be a problem lol

I rarely look at the instruments, anyway. Since the analog speedo is useless, keeping the tach at 9 o'clock (roughly 2k) is usually about right for the spped limit depending on what gear you are in. It's easy to see with your peripheral vision when the needle is at 12 o'clock, too. What good is a redline on a tach if the whole tach is red?

hmm good point, i kinda thought the same, but of course pictures dont do anything justice, pretty sure it's much easier to tell in real life

notice how the font for the numbers is different on the tachs? I prefer the FR-S's tach if I had to choose. The white background makes it pop. But, if it had the red lights like the BRZ, then it would be perfect for me!

also @Wilsonk227, noticed you're an accord owner :D
thinking of switching over? I sure am. only a matter of time. are you on the DA forums by any chance?

Yea... I like the FRS better... Too much red in the BRZ.... But I can see what is meant about light pollution though. You can just relax and cruise when driving at night without all the colors distracting you in the BRZ....

1) The shift light negates the whole redline arguement anyway, but the redline is very easy to see.

2) For night driving the red is preferable as the red spectrum best preserves night vision.

3) In the BRZ the lighting scheme in the cluster matches the rest of the stack/controls

Therefore, BRZ.

I thinking the total oppoosite lol.

I think the FR-S has a sportier look to it while the BRZ is simpler.

Kwisak 05-28-2013 02:13 PM

I have a BRZ and my buddy has the FRS, i like how the BRZ looks, but the FRZ is easier to see on the fly
