Stance C/O comfort
I've had stance C/Os for just over 2 weeks now. They've seen 300+ miles, and I still haven't found a comfortable setting for non-highway speed driving. With the dampers set fairly soft (3 from full soft in the front, 1 from full soft in the rear) the ride over highway bumps seems decent. But putting around town at 30mph just feels awful. The ride is very jittery and harsh. I've tried setting them closer to full stiff and the ride seemed very harsh at all speeds. Somewhere in the middle didn't feel much better to me either.
I have RCE T2s (KW v3s) on my '12 WRX and while it did take a lot of settings changes to make them comfortable, I now feel the ride is pretty good on that car. For everyone running stance...do you feel these are close to stock for comfort? I'm really close to buying the KW V3s to make it bearable. |
Most coilovers aren't gonna give you OEM ride comfort. Unless you wanna start spending a lot of $$....
I have Stance and I think they're just fine. Sure, they're firm but its not as hash as you're making it sound to me and I ride with the rears on full stiff. You could make some changes to the spring preload though I doubtit will alter the ride comfort that much and it could make a negative impact on the handling if you make blind adjustments to that. I put a tiny bit more preload on my springs all around. If you want comfortable, I would either just switch to struts/springs are be ready to spend a couple grand on some high end coils. I will tell you right now though, my dad had V3s in his B7 RS4 and they were noticeably more harsh than the stock setup. Coilovers are pretty much always gonna give you a more firm ride. That's their job |
RCE T2s are available for this car and we have a lower cost nonadjustable RCE T0 coilover that is quite comfortable. Just letting you know. :)
