loose ball joint
so for a few weeks ive been hearing a light clicking noise in the front right wheel area when making long sweeping right turns ( weight off the problem wheel). i thought maybe a loose wheel, but that wasnt the case. maybe bearing? nahh its a new car.
yesterday i took off the front arms to install caster bushing to find out the right ball joint nut is hand tight!:eyebulge:. just lovely. so check your car if you hear a noise. mass production always has its margin of errors. |
Missing cotter pin? That's what dealer prep is for if indeed that is what is missing.

Oh my goodness. I'm glad you found it so is the ball joint all good?

omg I have something similar.
A slight occasional popping sound when making turns, or even if I just sit in my driveway and turn my wheel. I'll take it in today to have it checked. |
Ugh. I haven't heard anything weird coming from my car but this makes me want to check. Can never be too sure, I guess. Glad you found it before something really bad happened.

Even with a loose castle nut, I am surprised that the ball joint came undone. I have had trouble getting taper joints loose even when I wanted them undone.

Did you install all the mods on the car yourself?

Do you have a picture of the nut? I'm having a very similar noise from my front driver side wheel. I made an appointment to bring it in for service but if it's an easy fix I'd rather do it myself.

Thanks for the heads up, will check mine.

Got 1/8 of a turn on both ball joint nuts, but there is still noise.
