If they loaded the tires as Toyota recommends by stacking two tires where the spare is stored, there is probably a little more room to push the seats back. Of course, if you're heading to the track odds are you aren't carrying a passenger, nor is a more upright seating position closer to the steering wheel and pedals an issue.

total repost.

Sorry bout the re-post.

To put the rear seating space in perspective (since there hasnt really been a whole heck of a lot of clear pictures with people in the back, and sizes of the people), It looks like the diameter of the 17" rims with tires represent roughly an equal size to the back seat space with the front seats all the way back.

So whatever space you're looking for/needing/wanting, go look at some 17" wheels with 215/45/17 tires and any legroom would have to be added to that diameter.

Agreed. The seats can't even recline in this configuration and are pushed forward several inches. Everyone's blinded by the fact that it's a RACE CAR NOW!

haha man I'd rather my buddy just follow me in his truck. This is not an additional selling point to me what-so-ever.

The seats are pretty far forward here, but you could store the tires vertically instead, and that would free up about 8 inches. Front seats can move all the way back, problem solved. You lose 200mm of the rear window right behind the seat, but the middle of the window should be visible. No worse than putting a large box in some SUV.

I still wonder why they mounted the 3rd brakelight like that. Couldn't they have tucked it in more or have a solid unit instead of the pegs showing!? :iono:

Yes I hate this too and I can its for when the rear spoiler is installed needs to be high enough to be seen above it

First mod removing it.

It would easy. Just re-route the wiring along the glass and mount it on the top. Avoiding the law would probably be the toughest part.

My plan all along.

You have a law for this??

quik1987 and poormans_LFA: Your posts about this thread being a repost... are reposts. :paddle:

But now that this has gone front page, can someone merge the two threads?

Hachiroku 02-17-2012 12:07 PM

Dudes, reposts aren't the end of the world :D

Sometimes things are ok being reposted, especially if it's something of note.

The rear lip spoiler doesn't stick up that far, so it wouldn't block the 3rd brake light even if it was placed lower. My guess would be that there are regulations about the third brake light being a certain distance higher than other lights.

chulooz 02-17-2012 12:28 PM

The spoiler clearence theory is much more believable than your idea. Either way at least its just a quick minor fix for the nitpicky, the clock in the cabin is also dumb looking design.
